[Future House] The Magician – Together

The Magician
"Together"

There’s a few things we know about The Magician: he’s Belgian, he makes good music, and he’s magical as hell. Following the success of his last original “Sunlight”, The Magician is back with another hit, this time venturing into future house territories. The smooth vocals set the scene for the heavyhitting bass synths, which provide catchy bounces to the drop that will seriously cause an adrenaline overload for all listeners. The bells that start off the tune are also there to end it, adding a surreal and mysterious vibe to the mix.

There’s literally nothing The Magician cannot do. This new track follows the sound of the future, and the Belgian absolutely crushed it. It’s safe to say he’s got more tricks up his sleeves than we could all imagine.

[House] Oliver Heldens – Melody

Oliver Heldens
Melody (Original Mix) Out March 16

There’s not many people who we can equate Oliver Heldens to, as far as quickly-garnered success and intense adoration. With an unprecedented five Beatport #1 singles to his name, and his latest original, “Last All Night (Koala)” continuing to dominate the radio airwaves, there’s a damn good reason why he’s quickly risen to the top.

Tracks like “Gecko (Overdrive)” and his remix of Martin Garrix’s “Animals” helped pave the way for a future house, and Heldens was at the forefront as he brought his unique blend of melodic, bass-heavy, house music to the scene. Success like that is hard to follow up, but his latest track, “Melody,” doesn’t disappoint one bit.

The talented youngster shows off his immense musical background and talent at bringing together multiple elements of a song to create something special. Heldens artfully works string arrangements and piano melodies together over a big, booming bass line that characterizes Heldens’ style, ultimately getting us overwhelmingly excited for his set at Ultra.

[Future House] Curbi – Discharge (Original)

Curbi
Discharge (Original Mix)

It seems like every week we’re writing up another gifted youngster. A few weeks ago, we wrote up the stunning rendition of Bon Iver’s “Blood Bank” from 14 year old Spencer Barnett, and today we’re enamored by another teen prodigy.

We tend to see these teen sensations more so in the electronic realm, and with good reason. The beauty of musical production in the 21st century is that anyone with a laptop, some software, and a background in musical studies can become a producer and possibly make a career out of it. It has been done by teenage all-stars Martin Garrix and Oliver Heldens, both who disrupted dance music trends with their signature styles. Spinnin’ Records hosted Martin Garrix’s chart-smashing single, “Animals,” and they may have their newest teen superstar with Curbi.

Today, Curbi‘s debut single, “Discharge,” was released on Spinnin’ Deeps’ Soundcloud after being previewed on Oliver Heldens’ Heldeep Radio Show. The 16-year-old British producer has truly polished production, and has apparently been paying careful attention to the recent surge in future house beats.

This rowdy club tune exudes a future aura immediately upon hitting the play button, and the UK producer takes fans on a space adventure complete with depth-defying synth stabs and ghostly bass wobbles. With a monstrous entry such as this, the sky’s the limit for Curbi and we will be watching him very closely to see how quickly his career blossoms.
