[Get Crunk] Friday Party Playlist (Vol 156)

Another week, another batch of a dozen party poppin’ records. This week’s playlist has a fair batch of bass music mixed with house, with the former coming first. Twerk, trap and dubstep take over just over half of the playlist, with tracks from Meaux Green, Jayceeoh, ATLiens, along with a single called “Not This Time” that features the talented vocalist Aloma Steele. During the second half, groove to the boisterous beats from Contrvbvnd, Halfway House, Lost Kings and more. Stay safe tonight and tomorrow when you are getting rid of all the stress from the week. Enjoy the playlist, but most of all #danceirresponsibly.

[Melodic] Kill Paris ft. Royal – Operate (Illenium Remix)

Kill Paris ft. Royal
Operate (Illenium Remix)

The ninjas love some Kill Paris. We also love Royal, as well as Illenium. All three come together in one thanks to a remix by Illenium of “Operate” from the Galaxies Between Us album. Nick slows things down, but keeps up his melodic tendencies. With each drop, he gives us something different, which keeps things fresh throughout the entire song. The first section focuses on a vocal sequence that is accompanied by a few other patterns that help to fill out the spectrum. Later, we experience a shift to a big sound with soaring synths that energize the listener with nothing but good vibes. The Illenium remix of “Operate” has been released as a free download, which you can snag right here.

[Chill] Illenium – I’ll Be Your Reason

Illenium
I'll Be Your Reason

Denver-based producer Illenium has made a name for himself on Soundcloud over the last year or so as a leader in the sub-genre of EDM that’s been dubbed “future bass.” Although it’s become a rather overcrowded space, Illenium has distinguished himself with a marked versatility and diversity in sounds earning himself a release on Skrillex‘s Nest HQ.

Departing from his typical production style, “I’ll Be Your Reason” displays exactly what it is that makes Illenium stand out. Rather than go for a trend or generic production style, the San Francisco native teams up with Irish singer/songwriter Eden to create an atmospheric, chilled-out production. Even with its somber undertones, the track still breaks into a chorus reflective of Illenium’s style making for an interesting juxtaposition that pairs relaxing melodies and downtempo vocals with heavier bass elements. If you’ve had a long Monday, this should help you unwind but is equally fitting for a post-work or study drink. Unwind and grab a free download above.

Sound Remedy
Spirals (feat. King Deco) by Sound Remedy & Illenium

Sound Remedy and Illenium? That’s too good to be true. Except, it’s real. “Spirals,” which also has King Deco, is one of those songs that prompts everyone to pull out their lighters and just vibe. With these acts working together in harmony, the result was nothing short of spectacular.

An ethereal introduction is constructed by the producer’s who masterfully pieced together an exquisite work. Surely it wouldn’t be the same without the magic of the vocal, but the power the instrumental has in itself is truly immense. Sound Rememdy self released this track through digital stores, so if you’d like to buy “Spirals” you may do so on iTunes.
