[House] Beyonce Ft Jay Z – Deja Vu (Seelo Bootleg)

Beyonce Ft Jay Z
Deja Vu (Seelo Bootleg)

Edmonton based DJ/producer Seelo is back with a bootleg of Beyonce and Jay Z’s “Deja Vu.” Opting for a dark bassy vibe, Seelo cooked up a club ready remake. Coming off opening for Tchami in Calgary, Canada, and with big news to announce for his upcoming releases, Seelo’s bootleg is a freebie to all the fans while we wait for new original music.

Dark and deep is how Seelo likes his house music, reminiscent of Malaa, Tchami, and Oliver Heldens’ style. It’s in Alberta, West Canada, where he’s become a fixture in the underground electronic music scene, with releases on Canadian label AtomicSky Recordings, and support from Don Diablo and Judge Jules on his official remixes for Like Mike, and Adam K. You get a strong taste of his style here, which has us ready for more.

[17 To End ’17] Ninja Ash’s Best of the Year

Listen to the playlist on Spotify // Apple Music.

Nite Jewel‘s Real High, full of lush instrumentation and flawless percussion, is meant for late night listening–“Obsession” captivates with its sensual atmosphere.

Gabriel Garzón-Montanos unique take on soul made for one of the most captivating albums of the year. “Fruitflies” is an earworm of a track that tells a heartbreaking, deeply human story that needed to be heard in 2017.

“Baybee” captures everything I love so much about Jay Som‘s 2017 debut Everybody Works–dreamy, expansive and larger-than-life.

Slowdive‘s first album back in over 2 decades is a transformative masterpiece and “Star Roving” exemplifies its beautiful vastness.

We might be a bit biased since we premiered his first track on TMN Radio earlier this year, but Still Woozy may be the artist I’m most excited for in 2017. “Cooks” displays just how much emotion and soul he pack into a quirky, playful tune. Continue reading

To round it all out, I mixed together 11 of my favorite 2017 house tracks. We have some even more comprehensive end of year lists from our staff coming to the website later this week so stay locked. Thanks to everyone and anyone who rocked with Music Ninja Radio in 2017! – Ash

[Cover] Mark Johns – In Paris (Prod. Sable)

Mark Johns
In Paris (Prod. Sable)

Mark Johns does what she wants. And she does it well. All of her previous efforts within the Moving Castle camp have made her a commodity in this constantly shifting and growing network of URL focused collectives. Having already worked with Manila Killa, Y//2//K, and Strehlow, she’s cemented her spot as a premiere vocalist in the future bass realm. Her newest release calls on the talents of Australian native Sable, and they’ve reshaped JAY Z and Kanye West‘s Ni***s In Paris into something akin to a ballad.

The juxtaposition of the lyrics and Sable’s airy and atmospheric production are pulled together with no problem by Mark John’s ability to commandeer the original track and completely flip the script. We’ve seen it before on a flip of Gatorade by Yung Lean, and JAY Z and Kanye’s blockbuster hit get the same treatment with similar and pleasing results. There’s plenty in store for Mark Johns, and she exhibits a star quality amongst the impressive roster of producers she has supporting her. She’s not messing around with In Paris, and you won’t want to miss out what she is going to do next.

[NEW] Pharrell – Frontin’ (Disclosure Re-Work)

Frontin'
Pharrell ft. Jay Z (Disclosure Re-Work)

Long-time Pharrell fans undoubtedly feel a sense of nostalgia for his incredible work of the early and mid 2000s. Luckily, though, the legendary Virginia-bred producer continues to make amazing music and the breadth of his influence is strong in both hip-hop and EDM. Today, we get a special treat from UK EDM stars, Disclosurein the form of an incredible remix of Pharrell’s classic, Jay-Z featuring track, “Frontin.”

Disclosure’s funky electronic sound meshes perfectly with the instrumental creating an incredibly fun and bouncy summer anthem. It comes as no surprise that the two styles work so well together considering that the brothers of Disclosure have, on multiple occasions, mentioned Pharrell as a musical inspiration. Kick your weekend off right with this one and look out for a free download as the SC description suggests they’ll be giving it away once they reach 1 million likes on their Facebook page.

[NEW] Timbaland – Know Bout Me (Feat. Jay-Z, Drake & James Fauntleroy)

Timbaland
Know About Me (Feat. Jay-Z, Drake & James Fauntleroy)

After alluding to this track awhile back, mega-producer Timbaland drops a brand new single featuring Drake and Jay-Z. The single, titled “Know Bout Me,” is a monster collaboration and very reminiscent of classic Timbo from the 90’s with heavy hitting bass and rim rattling studio effects. It seems the beef is squashed between the rapper and producer and now we get the aftermath of the make-up. At first listen, it definitely takes some getting used to as Timbo abandons the synth beats and electro rhythms for a more throwback flow. That might be something that new fans are not used to but still is just as good as his previous hits. With the addition of Drizzy and Hov delivering some dope verses and James Faunterloy crooning on the hook, this is a nice taste of what is to come from the Virginia native.

If you are feeling nostalgic, take a listen to the first single off his upcoming full length Textbook Timbo, and be sure to grab a copy when it hits iTunes December 3rd.
