Say You Love Me (Gorgon City Remix)

The anticipation is building for the forthcoming album from talented songstress, Jessie Ware. Today, the UK’s Gorgon City help contribute to the momentum with their remix of her beautiful single, “Say You Love Me.” The original version is a slow, emotional ballad, but the talented production duo pick up the tempo transforming it into one of their signature house anthems. Gorgon City often feature strong female vocalists on their tracks making this feel like it could easily be an original from them with Ware’s potent vocals taking it to a whole new level. Kick off your weekend right and grab a free download above. Jessie Ware’s Tough Love is out on October 21st.

[House] Cyril Hahn & Javeon – Breaking

Cyril Hahn & Javeon
Breaking

Canadian house producer Cyril Hahn has had perhaps the most unassuming rise in comparison to any other producer over the past few years. What began as a college hobby of pumping out remixes for his friends,  soon turned into blogosphere wildfire when his smooth and pitched down deep remix of Destiny’s Child registered over a million plays within months. Since that spark, the entire indie world over from pop-enthusiasts, rock aficionados and of course dance gurus have seemed to take a bit of a shine to Hahn’s accessible and polished productions. Coming off of a debut EP Perfect Form back in October on tastemaking electronic imprint PMR, it looks like we’ve caught the young Canuck in the midst of a musical stride so to speak with his newest original collaboration with the talented and lovely Javeon, “Breaking”. The tune itself functions a little bit closer to synth-pop territory than usual for Hahn, who is clearly influenced by the Bristolian upstart. “Breaking” molds itself on top of a looming, 80’s leaning MIDI hook, and constant pumping bass line- and of course, it just wouldn’t be right to have Cyril Hahn’s name on this one unless there was a silky stellar vocal track there to pull its listener along.

“Breaking” will be available as part of  PMR Records (part of the brains behind finding Jessie Ware and Disclosure) debut sampler 20 Square Feet in Action which has yet to receive an official release date. Stream it above.

[R&B/Soul] Mayer Hawthorne – Her Favorite Song (Feat. Jessie Ware)

Mayer Hawthorne
Her Favorite Song

We think Mayer Hawthorne got the title of his brand new single all wrong, because this is really our favorite new song. Complimented by the buttery vocals of British songstress Jessie Ware, Hawthorne makes yet another case for the title of “King of Soul” in 2013. The funky tune revolves around a female who considers her iTunes library to be a sanctuary from all the pressures of the world (which may sound familiar to many of you out there). It’s impossible to listen to this number without singing along, and you’ll find yourself hitting the rewind button more than a few times today. Once you’ve finished your umpteenth play-through, make sure to check out the quirky trailer for Mayer’s upcoming album, Where Does This Door Go, which will be in stores July 16th.

[New] Jessie Ware – Love…Thy Will Be Done

Rising British songstress Jessie Ware takes listeners back in time with her latest single “Love…Thy Will Be Done”. The throwback track is a modern re-make of Martika‘s early 90’s hit of the same name (co-written by Prince). Driven by a subtle beat of synth rhythms, light guitars, and soft drums, this smooth tune allows the singer/songwriter to showcase the range of her vocal abilities. What could easily be mistaken as a “best of the 80s/90’s” romance tune, is given a new life with Ware’s impressively soothing vocals. Fans can hear more of her music on her excellent debut album, Devotion.
