One of of the most anticipated tracks off of Long.Live.A$AP features a who’s who of some of the hottest young rappers in the game right now. “1Train” consists of six straight minutes of fiery bars from the likes of A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Big K.R.I.T., Action Bronson, Yelawolf and Joey Bada$$. The song wouldn’t be quite complete though without the immaculate production courtesy of Hit-Boy. For those still getting accustomed to some of the names on this list, the song serves as a proper introduction to the future of rap music. This outstanding single is just another hit from the Harlem emcee who’s been churning them out left and right in preparation for his debut album, set to drop on January 15th.

On his latest track, the Brooklyn-based rap protege, Joey Bada$$, enlists a quarter of the rising west coast Black Hippy crew, Ab-Soul. “Enter the Void” melds their unique, bicoastal styles over a smooth instrumental with a subtle, but addicting, bass line. Both artists demonstrate their lyrical prowess as they get spiritual urging the listeners to keep their “chakras open” during the chorus.

This cut serves as a bonus for today’s iTunes single release of “Waves,” a standout track from Joey’s excellent debut mixtape 1999.Check the east-cost, west-coast hip-hop zen below.

Harlem’s Smoke DZA first caught hip-hop fan’s attention back in 2010 with his impressive mixtape, George Kush Da Button. Since then, he consistently released strong projects, joined up with New Orleans veteran Curren$y’s Jet Life Recordings and put out one of the strongest hip-hop albums of the summer with Rugby Thompson, entirely produced by Harry Fraud. DZA is a talented lyricist with a gritty east coast flow and certainly has created his own brand of lifestyle raps.

The self-proclaimed “Kushed God” released his most recent project yesterday boasting a star-studded tracklist. With features and production from Big K.R.I.T., Ab-Soul, Joey Bada$$, King Chip, Ski Beatz and Harry Fraud, just to name a few, the expectations for K.O.N.Y. could not be higher and Smoke DZA most certainly does not disappoint. Seventeen year-old Brooklyn emcee, Joey Bada$$, created one of the most critically acclaimed hip-hop projects of the summer with his debut mixtape, 1999. Since then, he has received cosigns from countless artists with a smooth style and impressive bars, which exude wisdom far beyond his years. His positive message and old-school, east-coast steez make for pure hip-hop and lyricism at its finest.

As fans eagerly await new material, Bada$$ gives us a collection of tracks that didn’t quite make the cut for 1999. In a statement he released with Rejex, the Flatbush-bred lyricist called these “more experimental” works going on to note that putting together these two efforts taught him a lot about his own “evolution as an artist and individual.” True to Joey’s decription, Rejex features a slightly more eclectic selection and, if you are a music nerd, like us ninjas, you will appreciate the glimpse this gives the listener into his creative process. Regardless, this stands alone as a strong display from a rising star whose potential is truly limitless.
