[Event Preview] Wobbleland 2017 With Snails, JOYRYDE, REZZ, Datsik & More

Every year, there’s one particular event the Bay Area of California really looks forward to. That is the one and only Wobbleland. Held at City National Civic in San Jose, this event sees bassheads flock from all over. With top quality production and lineups that highlight the top up and coming talent, Wobbleland has cemented itself as a go-to event every time it is held.

The three day festival is jam-packed with heavy hitters ranging from headliners Snails, Zomboy and Datsik, to artists like JOYRYDE, Kayzo and Party Favor. Those names alone is enough to get excited about, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. With back-to back sets from Jameston Thieves x YOOKiE, KRANE x Alexander Lewis, Luca Lush x Josh Pan and Sam F x Yntendo, Wobbleland is set to be one of the most memorable festivals of 2017.

Wobbleland is slated for February 17th through the 19th. Ticketing information, as well as the full lineup can be found at the festival’s ticket page. Kicking off the year 2016, JOYRYDE has managed to gather all the hype in the world and created a brand to himself. His new track, titled “Windows”, was meant to be a collab with Shaquille O’Neal. A Rick Ross verse was then inserted in production, which would ultimately end up as this epic track. JOYRYDE incorporates a series of brassy synth stabs into a trap beat, together with the heavyhitting kicks that will give you endless adrenaline rush. Rick Ross’ verse fits right in the mix, resulting in an urban dance joint that exemplifies the “Rosé Swurve” fusion.

SPEED TRAP

Joyryde has to be one of the most underrated cats in the house game. His energetic productions play off various styles of house, including electro and the future/deep sound that has been taking the scene by storm over the course of the last year or so. He’s managed to keep his own style in a sea of watered-down producers, and his newest single, “Speed Trap” is off the chain.

Boisterous basslines beam out the speaker with a vengeance until you get your body grooving along, and then they persist. Joyryde manages energy levels incredibly well in general, but in moving into short cut time phrases, he allows for a little different vibe to be given to the end of the chorus sections. One of the best parts about the song is that he gave it away for free. No matter what kind of house head you are, you are going to dig what Joyryde has to offer.
