If someone were to send us a message that said that this email contained a tropical house remix of “Lean On” then it would be extremely hard for us to really want to open it. However, an act Campsite Dream that has swayed us in the past as fans, has offered up a new original take on the 2015 classic by Major Lazer, DJ Snake and MØ. After hearing what the Texel producer did, along with a new vocalist, we were fully embracing the tropical vibes. We were forced to admit, Campsite Dream has done it again.

These guys put together a fresh face on a track that has had a seemingly infinite amount of remixes already. Some would say that they were late to the party, but I think Campsite Dream’s timing was great. The fire has died down on the remix front, and they offered a whole different perspective by dishing this one out with a different vocalist, and keeping things as original as possible. Epic Amsterdam put this one out, however it can’t be found in digital stores. Stream on Soundcloud, or Spotify, or maybe check around the web for a download. You might just find something!

When it comes to remixing music, especially some of the biggest songs of today, you are always taking a risk. Some originals are so revered by the fans that anyone who tries to lend their own flavor are immediately dismissed. On the other hand, because we may know a song so well, it’s intriguing to hear it in a different light.

Stellar’s remix of Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s dance hit, “Lean On,” takes the original in a new, bass-filled direction. Entirely replacing the melody with a ridiculously serious series of bass lines, listeners will find themselves unable to resist the hold of its brilliant rhythm and beat. But just to give you a better idea of what we’re talking about, think of a song with one of the heaviest drops you’ve ever heard. Now imagine that drop continuing through out the track, only instead of getting repetitive, constantly switches up, and consistently introduces you to a new rhythm. Basically what we’re getting at here is: this track is a monster, but you won’t know this until you hear it for yourself.

When the ninjas sit down to consult about what genre tags we give a track, for the sake of site organization, sometimes we have a song that gives us some trouble. We love this trouble, because the songs that lie in their own space are few and far between. Modern Machines new remix is one of those songs that had us scratching our heads a bit.

The New York duo took on Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On,” which they turned into a hybrid track that pulls from dubstep and trap; however, it lies in the midtempo range, giving it a very subtle twerky vibe. They take a turn from their energetic house music to focus their attention on bassheads, and they have succeeded in creating a dope remix. Get your free copy today!

Today is the day that Major Lazer uploaded the official remix pack for “Lean On” to Soundcloud. It is also the day that The Music Ninja gets to premiere the Candyland version of the track, which is being released for free.

With Candyland’s sonic diversity, as a listener you have to be ready for anything. Trap is one style that Candyland excels at, and have implemented into the reworking of Major Lazer’s collaboration with DJ Snake and MØ. In fact, Josie had get her twerk on with this rambunctious production whose sound morphs as the song moves along to its finish. What you get with the first drop is nothing like you get with the last. It’s proven yet again why Candyland is one of the hottest acts out, giving us top notch records day in and day out. Truth is, Candyland has another single coming soon in the form of an original called “Murda” that will be released on SMOG Records on May 18th. If 12th Planet can get behind it, so can you!
