[Electronic] AWAY – Honest To Gød (feat. Charity)

AWAY
Honest To Gød (feat. Charity)

AWAY is back at it, this time coming through the Lowly Palace pipeline with “Honest To Gød.” This original single features the LA vocalist Charity and shares a mind-bending array of styles all mixed together to AWAY’s liking.

Not only is it to AWAY’s liking, but it’s to ours and the hundreds of thousands of others who have heard the track since its release. It’s a dark, moody piece of music that shows off AWAY’s signature, something that has established him as a unique producer among a sea of generic caricatures. Together with Charity AWAY made “Honest To Gød” something truly memorable and will go down as one of the year’s most distinct and yet accessible records.

[Hip-Hop] TastyTreat- Summer (Don’t Go) ft. Wasiu

TastyTreat
Summer (Don't Go) feat. Wasiu

Today we have the newest song from producers Tasty Treat and Montreal rapper Wasiu called “Summer (Don’t Go).” If the title doesn’t give it away, this song talks about the good things about Summer and how the majority of people don’t want the season to go.

Treat’s production gives off the Summer time feeling; it’s bouncy and it even has birds chirping at some points in the song to give it some natural tones. Wasiu’s rapping is a list of things that makes Summer the best time of the year when he raps, “This feel like BBQ parties, pools uncles who say it’s way hotter out in Haiti/ It tastes like sweat dripping drunk kisses smudged lip stick dumb water fights gone crazy.” This track is an essential for any future summer time parties/cookouts. If you want to add this song to your playlist check it out on TastyTreat’s SoundCloud or on itunes.

Down Easy

“Down Easy” by Brooke Williams does just that, goes down easy. It’s one of those songs you can toss on repeat and not think about stopping to move on to another song for quite some time. Released as a free download on Lowly Palace, there’s no sleeping on this gem.

The North Hollywood pop treasure only has a handful of tracks out currently, but “Down Easy” should be enough to show you just how good of an artist she is. The poppy original isn’t as straightforward as you might think. Upon listening you’re taken back by a strong sound that isn’t watered down like many pop tracks. It was surprising to see the genre coming from Lowly Palace who have strong electronic tracks, but you’ll hear just why they couldn’t pass up this one.

[Music Video] AWAY – Sleepwalker ft. London Thor

Dark, twisted but incredibly beautiful, the music video for “Sleepwalker” by AWAY and London Thor is major. It feels like a cinematic masterpiece and that’s because that is exactly what it is, despite it being a music video.

AWAY and company did an amazing job. With the song, it’s a brooding single that packs a punch by itself, but when partnered with its visual component the whole package is extraordinary. The video bounces between the high quality shots of one storyline and the home videos of another. Together they form a moving experience that you just have to see for yourself. Be careful, this one approaches the NSFW line.

Run (feat. Tima Dee & Giant Spirit)

So far 2017 has shown us that a producer’s main goal is to toy with our emotions. We’ve seen vocalists incorporate lyrics that give us something to relate to and the melodies that accompany these lyrics are capable of inducing the same emotions regardless if the lyrics are there or not. BLVK SHEEP’s last release from his Mind EP, “Run” incorporates a vibrant and raw combination of vocals from Tima Dee and a surprising and very welcome riff of guitar chords from Giant Spirit, combining multiple sounds that leave us wanting more from this budding producer. The energy in this hybrid trap track is potent throughout, yet still leaves room for the emotionally laden lyrics from Tima. Sonata

Future bass meets dance, meets instrumentals, meets bouncy synths; Magnifico and Taptone’s “Sonata” released on Lowly Palace, has taken a bit everything and melded it together into a dramatic production that we’re 100% on board with.

Upon pressing play the track builds into a climactic drop laden with the all familiar sound of trumpets, an instrument that adds a positive flair in so many great productions. This infectious track delves into an unexpected moment of a smoother melody where, yet again, an instrumental is featured, this time luscious piano chords slowing everything down before reviving into the upbeat dance track. The back and forth between this fluttering heartbeat of a track leaves us feeling satisfied but ready for more. Ups and downs may be hard in life, but in music they’re a welcome distraction. “Sonata” is available as a free download.
