[Electronic] Zuma – All Nite feat. Lenis Kim

Zuma.
all nite (ft. lenis kim)

Simple and sensual are the first words that come to mind when we listen to San Diego based artists, Zuma and Lenis Kim’s new collaboration “All Nite.” The track, released via the Artist Union, melds crystal clear vocals and production suited for what many say is meant for the summer months, but we’ll have to disagree with that one.

The melodic melody could be enjoyed anywhere from the beach, a winter wonderland walk in the snow, to relaxing at home. Far from boring “All Nite” may not have a lot of frills but has an ability to create a sense of calm within the listener. This is Zuma and Lenis’s first collaboration, but hopefully not their last.

Suave ft. Miranda Gulasy
"Take Me Under" (PRMD DSCVR)

We’re still in the first month of 2017 and with the amount of incredible music that closed 2016, it’s no surprise that the new year is already bringing us music that pulls at our heart strings. With a chance of a very bleak 4 years ahead of us producer Suave is bringing us something fresh with is new track “Take Me Under.”

As the first release of the year with PRMD Music, this self taught pianist, vocalist, and producer has brought us a track that melds trap, bass and melodic melodies into one. Pulling inspiration from artists such as Said the Sky and Lido, Suave manages to make his tracks completely his own with crisp sounds featuring his very own vocals and, in this case, Miranda Gulasy.

Suave has landed himself in the top 50 Soundcloud charts as well as a million plays between his releases. Grab the track as a free download and add him to your 2017 watch list.

[TMN PREMIERE] Astoria Kings – Shine Your Light (Josh Money Remix)

Astoria Kings
Shine Your Light (Josh Money Remix)

There’s something about melodic dubstep that soothes anything that ails you. The epic vocals, the smooth rolling bass lines, and the carefully orchestrated synths just seem attach themselves so elegantly to the mood of track.

Yes, Josh Money has produced a remix that satisfies all of those wonderful things about a melodic vocal dubstep track. It’s slow, sensual, and really allows the original vocals from Astoria Kings to shine. The track keeps the same Imogen Heap feel, with heavily treated ethereal lyrics, only this time around it’s dialed up with a beautiful EDM treatment that begs to be played at full volume, with your windows down.

This brand new release is available as a free download on FiXT’s soundcloud page, so head over and grab a copy for yourself. Once you’ve downloaded it, make sure to head over to Beatport to pick up Josh’s recently released LP Carve.

[New] Michael Kiwanuka- Home Again

British singer/songriter Michael Kiwanuka is a fresh cup of coffee for a world of drowsy, early morning, soul music. Michael comes equipped with melodic guitars, light percussion, and a voice that’s somewhere between Otis Redding, Miles Davis, Bill Withers, and Robert Pattinson. The title track of his new CD, “Home Again”, is an introspective take on the comfort and safety of home, and how you long for it when you’re away.

Home again, Michael’s new album, will be out on March 26th 2012 on Mumford & Sons‘ Communion label. Pre-orders are available.

[Remix] I'd Rather Dance with You (Redlight)

“I’d Rather Dance with You” is the eighth song from the album Riot on an Empty Street by Kings of Convenience. It was released as a single November 2, 2004.

There is a remix to this song by our friend, the talented Bostonian Producer/DJ Redlight. What we like most about this remix is that Redlight was able to create an electronic remix without taking away the melodies and charming vocals that made the original song so great.

He mention to us that he is looking for some east coast performances and provided us with an exclusive live set (mp3) to show you how serious he is about partying. Check out his myspace or hit him up at theredlightremixes [at] gmail [dot] com

Steve Raynolds' take on folk "The Carnival Papers"

_m0d0242

Song/Artist Steve Reynolds with his captivating folk influenced slow rock was featured in the soundtrack of Eli Stone’s “Mortal Kombat” episode with a beautiful mellow the song titled “Coming In Too Low”. Soothing and sincere sounding lyrics that spread across the emotional spectrum of indulgence, wanderlust, love, lost love, joy and a lot of pain, youthful run-ins with the law, full release, redemption and resultant wisdom.

His must buy album released June 3, 2008 The Carnival Papers appears to come across as folk yet it contains a lot of modern rock influences that give it a very unique sound. There are albums that only have a few great song and the rest track are just OK, which is definitely not the case with The Carnival Papers as Steve Reynolds keeps you entertained from beginning to end. From the very folky lyrical driven “Once In Your Life” to the more epic violin accompanied songs “Mistaken Identity” and the heavy orchestrated “Coming In Too Low” Steve Raynold is able to pull every song with elegance.

"But What About The Future" – Toy Horses

these_days_wont_last_fovereverThis song caught me completely off guard, I was on thesixtyone.com listening to some of the new songs that are being uploaded to the site when I came across “But What About The Future” by melodic duo Toy Horses. A song full of childish references with themes about staying young and making these moments “last forever”. Incredably melodic, clever, and pretty damn funny, “But What About The Future” is probably my favorite song of the week so far. This song is going on my ipod and i am sure it will last forever there.
