Nightmare Festival is just around the corner. October 27th through the 29th will see the Halloween music and arts festival take over Camp Ramblewood in Maryland. The unique festival is not only taking over Camp Ramblewood, but they’ve just took over the dojo!

Our Dojo Takeover Spotify playlist has just been revamped with tracks from artists you’ll be seeing at the festival. Minnesota’s smooth melodic style captured our attention quite some time ago, and has continued to impress us with each and every release. Meticulously crafted, his sound is beautiful and often hip hop inspired, layering fast paced hi hats over rolling bass lines. With carefully extracted samples and clean natural atmospheric elements, he creates a rich and luscious soundscape that’s both relaxing and invigorating.

Given our long time affinity for this Santa Cruz producer/DJ, we were of course elated to give our readers the chance to win two VIP/Meet and Greet tickets to one of his shows. Our elation grew as the details emerged that we’d be doing this for his entire tour. That’s right, for every single one of Minnesota’s tour dates from October 9th and December 22nd (not including festival dates) we’re hooking up VIP tickets.

[Hip-Hop + Dubstep] Zion I & Minnesota – Float

Well this is a collab I never saw coming, Zion I and Minnesota. Zion I consists of DJ Amp Live and MC Zumbi both hailing from none other then Oakland, California. They released this track to support their fall tour together titled, Shadowboxing Tour. This will also be on the upcoming album also titled, Shadowboxing. Minnesota is a master of melodic dub masterpieces and when you team up with one of my favorite Hip-Hop artists of all time, Zion I, it is sure to be on repeat for days.The rhymes in this track mesh perfectly with they sexy dub that Minnesota delivers, especially the chorus. Now we finally got someone to rival the Zeds Dead and Omar Linx collab.Cheers.
