[Hip-Hop] Talib Kweli – Come Here (ft Miguel)

Getting ready for the release of his latest LP, NY emcee Talib Kweli drops his latest single today for fans listening pleasure. The smooth Grind Music produced track, titled “Come Here”, has the always conscious Kweli taking a more romantic approach to wooing the woman of his dreams. Teaming up with R&B-star Miguel for some soothing vocals on the chorus and hook, this track is definitely something the ladies will love. The combination of Kweli spitting some truth and Miguel delivering an addictive hook make this unexpected single a buzzworthy release, as we patiently wait for his album to drop April 23rd. Be sure to stay on the lookout for some more heat on Kweli’s latest effort, titled Prisoner of Conscious, which also features from Marsha Ambrosius, Busta Rhymes, and Kendrick Lamar.

Always trying something new and experimenting with a different sound, NY native Theophilus London takes listeners on a chill journey with the new smooth track titled “Rio”. The Thomas Brenneck produced track shows off Mr.London’s singing skills as he flows over a old-school, tropical instrumental provided by the Menahan Street Band. This week’s a busy one for UK native James Blake. His Big Boi-sampling “Everyday I Ran” surfaced just yesterday, and now he’s back with another track for your listening enjoyment titled “Take a Fall for Me”. The producer/ singer has always experimented with new synths and sounds so it is no surprise that he collaborates with legendary emcee RZA for this new single. The haunting vocals and airy production make for a nice background to the spoken work poetry by the the Wu-Tang lyricist. It is not known yet whether this will be on any upcoming effort but take a listen to the smooth track below.

NYC emcee Joey Bada$$ is back again with another dope track for your listening enjoyment. The single “Day in the Life” has the young spitter flexing his lyrical prowess over some Harry Fraud production. The smooth jazz influenced drums, keys, and horns make for a nice throwback beat for the 2013 Freshman class rapper to dominate. This track is impressive and can be heard on Peter Rosenberg‘s upcoming New York Renaissance mixtape, dropping later this year.

After dropping the critically acclaimed album Swing Lo Magellan, the indie band Dirty Projectors had a slew of remixes that followed . One of the musicians to take a turn on their lead single “The Socialites” is Hot Chip‘s Joe Goddard. Adding some xylophones and soft drum samples for an airy beat, Goddard makes a smooth remix driven by Amber Coffen‘s charming vocals. Packaging up some unreleased remixes to their lead single “The socialites”, the group prepares to drop a 12″ vinyl later this May.
