Fuck The Pain Away (The Golden Pony Remix)
After penning their first original last month, our favorite NYC disco tastemakers The Golden Pony return to the pages of TMN with a slightly grimier than normal remix of every slurry drunken white girl’s favorite sing-along, Peaches’ “Fuck The Pain Away”. TGP flirts a little more closely with the deeper, indie dance spectrum this time around, employing a very pronounced kick-clap pattern and a pitched down Peaches vocal track which besides its inflection is kept pretty intact. The duo’s synth line also plays in symbiotic harmony to the addictive albeit general vulgarity of the classic vocal track, and who can resist belting out that time-honored, complex lyric loop when it’s played out?
