I Don't Like, It I Love It (Kasum Remix)

Following the Blink 182 remix, Kasum is back with another infectious jam. Taking on “I Don’t Like It, I Love It” by Flo Rida, the NY-based producer provides a future bass rendition on the Top 40 track. Kasum manages to keep it fun and entertaining throughout the short duration of the tune, as there’s never dull moment. Cleverly sampling the whitsling, Robin Thicke‘s vocals and Flo Rida’s verse, it all results in an incredibly catchy song that’ll make you move up and down in a heartbeat.

With this release, Kasum once again proves that he can do it all. From progressive house to future bass, he can produce any trending sound for mass appeal. Out via Atlantic Records, this tune shows a new side of Kasum’s talents. Make sure to show some support if you like what you hear!

[House] Bixel Boys – Black December EP

’Bixel Boys – Black December’
’Bixel Boys – Red October’

L.A.’s Bixel Boys blaze their own path when it comes to dance music production, fusing the energy of big-room EDM with sleek, deep-house and indie dance execution. After a solid string of remixes within the last year, taking on the likes of Michael Jackson, Drake, Seal and Robin Thicke, along with a few solid originals; Ian and Rob have put the final touches on a debut EP, Black December, on Sweat It Out Music and it has certainly been stamped with our seal of approval. The extended play’s titular track “Black December” starts things off with a bang utilizing a shuffling rhythm paired with a couple of gigantic build-ups, all executed with a clear underground sensibility while the aptly named “Red October” has a much more tech feel with some industrial sounding synths and even more raucous drops. Black December will no doubt appeal to listeners from all ends of the electronic spectrum, signalling Bixel Boys’ place as a definite act to watch for  as Summer eschews itself out the door. [Album Review] Robin Thicke – Blurred Lines

’Robin Thicke – Blurred Lines (feat. T.I. & Pharrell)’
’Robin Thicke – Give It 2 U (feat. Kendrick Lamar)’
’Robin Thicke – Top Of The World’

After dropping multiple tracks from his latest full length this past month, R&B crooner Robin Thicke finally unveils his 6th studio album, Blurred Lines. Already seasoned in the music industry, Thicke is considered more of your mother’s favorite singer with his charming and mature sound. On this latest full length however, he teams with some of the top producers in the game and some rising emcees for a mix of 70’s funk, pop, dance, and an attempt at some dubstep and neo-soul.

Returning with a new sound and a controversial video to match, the 2013 Pharrell-produced summer hit-maker, “Blurred Lines”set the tone for the new Thicke on this album. It’s catchy, young, and fresh, but still holds an organic sound that sets it apart from the heavily-synthed music that plagues today’s radio. Adding T.I. for a quick “hip-rap” feature, there was no surprise that this single reached number one status on the charts.

His follow-up, the Dr. Luke-produced single “Give It 2 U” featuring Kendrick Lamar and the Timbaland-produced “Take It Easy On Me” turn the tables to a more dance vibe by adding some subtle dubstep-influences for easy marketable radio-success. “Get In My Way” is a nod to the past, with a 70’s inspired disco sound that comes across as light and effortless, while ‘Feel Good’ is the trance-pop tune that should appeal more to the European markets.

[Soul] Robin Thicke – Another Life

Taking a step away from judging and performing on the ABC talent show Duets, singer Robin Thicke capitalizes on the publicity by dropping a newly leaked single titled “Another Life”. This soulful Neptunes‘ and The Cataracs’ produced track is a soothing tune and Thicke does his label Star Trak Entertainment justice by penning some smooth lyrics. With the right mix of soul and charisma, Thicke gives the track his signature dynamic flow while still making it an easy listen for “the grown and sexy” audience. Coupled with a great instrumentals that mix piano keys, slight percussion, and some handclaps, it is clear how Thicke can bag such beauties as his wife, Paula Patton.
