[Indie-Dance/House] Röyksopp & Robyn – Do It Again (Moullinex Remix)

Röyksopp & Robyn
Do It Again (Moullinex Remix)

A few remixes of Röyksopp and Robyn’s collaboration “Do It Again” have surfaced, and it was pretty simple for this writer to pick a favorite. The astute and sharp Moullinex, who has largely made his name out of the Discotexas Records camp, authored a deep-disco re-imagining and it was exactly the prescription we needed to roll through the rest of this Friday and on into the night. Moullinex, who is often times more closely associated with a deeper brand of nu-disco follows a slightly more restrained, almost electro-tipping house rendition of the tune and we were dancing all over the office to his new exploratory sound on this one. His remix comes as part of an EP of the same name, due out on May 26 on Dog Triumph via Wall of Sound/Cooking Vinyl and also features remixes from In Flagranti and more. We’ll be awaiting this one anxiously, especially as there have been rumblings of new, full fledged LP projects from both Robyn and Röyksopp so hop on the train while the getting is good.

[Hip-Hop] Jon Connor – Tour Life

Jon Connor has consistently been one of the hardest working emcees in the game, constantly releasing quality music seemingly just for the hell of it. On this dope new single, the Flint, Michigan native boasts about the many luxuries of life on the road as a talented young emcee. Although Connor puts together an energetic performance on the mic, he still does a phenomenal job of creating a chill atmosphere. This is mainly due to the sampling of Röyksopp‘s “Remind Me,” which most of you will probably recognize from one of those old school GEICO caveman commercials. With no word on where this one will land, we’ll just have to enjoy this free download for now.
