[Hip-Hop] A$AP Rocky – Wild For The Night (Feat. Skrillex)

Probably the most intriguing collaboration on Long.Live.A$AP, “Wild For The Night” represents a departure from the rapper’s traditional syrup-driven rhymes. With young artists like A$AP Rocky continuing to show an eager willingness to experiment with their sound, it was inevitable that a combination like this would happen. Contrary to what you might expect, the electronic elements of the production actually don’t overwhelm the listener at all. This might be due to the fact that Skrillex opts to use more crashing synths versus the roaring womps we’re used to hearing from him. Then again, Sonny has proven that he does have some versatility in the past. With all that being said, this brand new Rocky track accomplishes exactly what the title suggests, meaning this won’t be the last time you’ll be hearing this one. Make sure to pre-order A$AP Rocky’s debut album, Long.Live.A$AP, in stores January 15th.

[Dubstep] MONSTA – Holdin’ On (Skrillex & Nero Remix)

Just last week, the legendary Nero released an absolutely massive new original tune, which for months had been rumored to be collaboration between the powerhouse duo and Skrillex. As information surrounding their latest track “Won’t You (Be There)” emerged, it was divulged that although this latest track wasn’t a collaboration with Skrillex, there were definitely a few collaborative tracks being developed for future release. Lucky for us, the wait was incredibly short, and a preview of the first of hopefully many new tracks between Nero & Skrillex is upon us. Skrillex & Nero take on the latest hit tune “Holdin’ On” from OWSLA’s newest signee Monsta; transforming the track in a manner which one could only expect from names such as Nero & Skrillex. The remix accentuates Monsta’s soulful vocals while ramping up the intensity of the tune with a heavy dose of wobbles and grinding bass. This is massive, so make sure to give this tune a listen!

The release date for this track is October 23rd as part of Monsta’s official debut release, Monsta EP, on OWSLA.

[AMAZING] Dog Blood – Middle Finger EP

In case you haven’t been blessed yet, Skrillex and Boys Noize joined forces and created a group called Dog Blood. If we’re lucky they will be run for president and slowly take over the world. But until then we have “Middle Finger” and “Next Order”. These two tracks were released on iTunes two days ago. On Sunday I saw Skrillex close out Outside Lands in San Francisco and when he dropped “Next Order,” words cannot describe how hectic it got. This track is just plain insanity, I was at a loss for words hearing it live, and it hits at all the right times, TURN UP THE BASS FOR THIS ONE. On the teaser that Skrillex posted on his Facebook about a week ago, he mentioned this as being “Acid Terror”. Others have gone as far to describe it as “Break-Acid-Tech-Noise”. Regardless what we call it, this collab is one of the biggest to hit the “EDM” scene in a long time. I like “Middle Finger” a little bit more, as it starts off with some glitch-acid-infused breaks and bleeps. Then we get some classic Skrillex vocal editing building into brain-scrambling filth that never lets up. Cheers.

[Filth] Birdy Nam Nam – Goin’ In (Skrillex “Goin’ Hard” Mix)

It’s about time EDM’s posterboy Skrillex unleashes some of his classic filth again. This time dropping a Drumstep infused banger that fires on all cylinders, remixing Bird Nam Nam’s track “Goin’ In.” He officially released the Trap remix of this same track two days ago so stay tuned for that mix. Starting with a funky beat using some woodblock craziness, accompanied by some dark and heavy vocal editing that Skrillex always delivers. This hard hitting track doesn’t let up especially after this first drop with some laser infused wobbles that are sure to melt you straight into your chair. The second drop is pretty much all I care about in life, absolute mayhem would be a healthy understatement, just prepare yourself. Due to release on Birdy Nam Nam’s Jaded Future EP 7/17 via OWSLA. Cheers.

I’m going wild for the night, fuck being polite.
