[Electronic] Bon Iver – Over Soon (Super Duper Remix)

Bon Iver
Over Soon (Super Duper Remix)

Whenever a highly anticipated album drops, you can always expect a slew of unofficial edits and remixes to begin showing up within the first week or so of the release. What you don’t always expect, however, is that many of these will actually be quality releases instead of simply a chance to capitalize on SEO. Super Duper is here to put any and all notion of that mess to bed with an absolutely stunning edit of 22, A Million‘s first track, “22 (OVER S∞∞N)”.

This remix may seem on the shorter side (clocking in at a concise 2:28), but it’s calculated build to final minute sets the stage for an incredible resolution and rendition of an incredible song. Having the foresight to instantaneously create such a stark production speaks to the capability and innovation of Super Duper, and, luckily for us, he’s got plenty of new music on the way. What’s wild is this edit was JUST FOR FUN. However you choose to approach unofficial remixes, always know that there will be diamonds in the rough, and Super Duper is certainly proving that notion right while doing the original justice with a powerful and striking interpretation. Be sure to check out Super Duper’s recent original, “Angela“, also!

Last Friday’s show marks the one year anniversary since we took our talents to the airwaves of BFF in San Francisco’s best kept secret(alley). From deep in the Mission District, through the port of a pirate ship, we’ve been bringing the best of the best to your ears – Best Frequencies Forever wasn’t voted ‘Best Radio Station‘ in the Bay Area for nothing!

With that in mind, now seems as good a time as any to start providing our fellow Ninja readers with a weekly recap of our show, Music Ninja Radio aka Dojo by the Bay. Curating the best releases each week, themed shows coinciding with specific artist releases, and a fair amount of throwbacks sprinkled throughout, Music Ninja Radio has something for everyone.

[Electronic] Super Duper – Angela

Coming from the depths of Soundcloud to gain a respectable fan base is an insurmountable challenge for most producers. While all it takes is a single breakthrough production, it also requires a mix of luck and self-promotion in order to make waves and take off. This path to success has been replicated by the likes of Ryn Weaver, Khai, and Bryson Tiller. While it isn’t exactly a hotbed for electronic producers, Nashville-based producer Super Duper has made a big splash this week with his lone release, titled “Angela”.

[Indie/R&B] R.LUM.R – Tell Me

R.LUM.R
Tell Me

R.LUM.R has long been supported by the ninjas, so when we saw that he put out a new single, we were all excited. “Tell Me” is the Tennessee artist’s newest musical creation that was produced by Super Duper, a fellow Nashville musician.

“Tell Me” has R.LUM.R going with a bit more alternative meets indie vibe. He keeps his R&B influences but they don’t act as the sonic centerpiece for this single. By bringing something a little different he keeps fans on their toes with some variety, but he always satisfies. Some fans are hailing this as his best work yet, and we’re not going to argue against that. He’s had a ton of great records, but he continues to get better and better as he creates. It’s only a matter of time before everyone hops aboard the R.LUM.R rollercoaster of feels. We would say bandwagon, but he’s just too fresh for that cliche.
