[Indie] Albert Hammond Jr. – Born Slippy

Born Slippy

Albert Hammond Jr. is back! Well, he never actually left, but The Strokes’ guitarist has announced his third solo album, Momentary Masters (out 7/31 on Vagrant/BMG). “Born Slippy” is just about everything you crave from AHJ—snappy guitar licks and charming vocal melodies your brain will have a hard time shaking. It’s the kind of tune strangers will catch you doing a maniacal dance to while sitting at a stoplight.

AHJ will kick off a two month North American tour in September. Find your show here.

Julian Casablancas from The Strokes goes Solo

The Strokes own Julian Casablancas has solo album coming out November 3rd titled “Phrazes For The Young”. Weallwantsomeone.org is already saying that Phrazes For The Young is turning out to be Julian’s The Eraser and I am going to have to agree. The songs have a mellower feel to what we would usally get to listening to the Strokes and moves farther away from rock elements as it contains more electronic melodies mashed with the folk and experimental genres. A lot of artists create solo projects for the very purpose of experimenting a different sound and Julian Casablancas definitely has the right formula down.
