[Future Bass] TOURIST – Holding On (feat. Josef Salvat & Niia)

Holding On (feat. Josef Salvat & Niia)

More dope music coming from London? No surprises there. This time we get a goodie from TOURIST, the sad dance music creator hailing from England’s capital. Not only do we get some Tourist, but we also get Josef Salvat and Niia on his latest single, “Holding On.” Available for pre-order, “Holding On” has some potential to do wonders on the charts, as it’s already nearing 300,000 plays–we can only imagine where the pre-sales are at.

The collaborators’ future bass work is infused with a little pop, making for an extremely fun aural experience. Polydor is releasing this track, which was the hottest record on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 on March 26th. TOURIST came up on some gold when he was working on this treasure and it’ll be available on May 24th. In the mean time, stream it and mark down in your Coachella notes that TOURIST is playing. You won’t want to miss it.

[House/Electronica] Tourist. – Together

Tourist.
Together

London’s Tourist. has been earning a reputation as quite the busy-bee as of late, diligently retooling much of his sound from late 2011 and 2012 in favor of a more house-oriented approach – especially with his latest single “Together”, which will be part of a forthcoming EP Patterns out December 2 on Method Records. While most of Tourist.’s past material took its shape through a slow-building, and melodic electronic approach akin to Flume or Ta-Ku; “Together” runs with a four-to-the-floor beat, and an arpeggiated synth doing most of the work. Meanwhile, an ever so subtle vocal sample playfully tugs on your ears for the duration, adding a pop-oriented feel to the tune that only Tourist. could tack on. We’ve always admired artists who choose not to pigeon hole themselves to one genre, instead opting for a complete spectrum of sounds, which many times allows an artist or group much more room to grow and develop their project. Patterns has been highlighted on our calendars for some time now, and “Together” has temporarily whet our appetites for all things Tourist. while simultaneously opening doors for so many musical directions for the talented producer to follow from here. Check it out above.

[New] Bright Moments – Tourists

You might not have heard of Bright Moments yet, but I can almost guarantee that you have heard them before. The sole member of the band, a musical genius known as Kelly Pratt, has been making a name for himself among the giants of the indie scene for years. From playing trumpet in Beirut to playing flute/various horns on Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible, Pratt has surrounded himself with the right people for the job- both in terms of promotion and creativity.

The band’s new single “Tourists” is an electric adventure full of spectacular horn work and catchy melodies that follows up on some ideas that Pratt’s previous band, Team B, set in motion. Check it out below.
