The Chainsmokers
#SELFIE (Elephante Remix)

April showers bring May flowers is a very true statement. Also, the beginning of April brings another Resident Artist to TMN and we had to wait until the 2nd of the month just to let you all know we weren’t fooling with this new artist.

Elephante, born Tim Wu, was born in Ann Arbor Michigan and started his music career at a young age being classically trained in piano, guitar, and exploring in both singing and song-writing. Inspired by the sounds of psychedelic rock like Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton and modern singer-songwriters John Mayer and Damien Rice, Elephante wrote and performed blues influenced acoustic pop songs throughout high school and college. His tastes began to shift towards electronic music in his late teens where he was influenced by “the idea that EDM was more than just drum loops, that you could create all these crazy sounds to make songs, not just a beat.” Since graduating from Harvard in 2011, Elephante has been honing his craft as a producer and DJ working to fuse big room melodic house with influences from pop, electro, and trap.

Elephante released his first EP in November 2013 titled ‘Pretty Lights’ which received high acclaim from the music world. He also has found quite a niche in making remixes of such artists as Kaskade, Katy Perry, Zedd, and Lorde.

That’s just a little insight into the man behind the music but get ready for a month full of everything Elephante, including his recently released remix of the Chainsmokers ‘Selfie’.
