[Dance] ASTR – Activate Me (Darkchild Mix)
Activate Me (Darkchild Mix)
It’s been a hot minute since ASTR‘s last release. After gaining much popularity over their track “Operate” and their cover of Drake‘s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, the NY-based duo explores a new sound heavily influenced by disco music. With the help of Rodney Jenkins a.k.a Darkchild with the mixing of the track, ASTR creates yet another masterpiece. The drums are cleverly crafted and versatile, further bringing out the suspense of the tune. Zoe’s vocals perfectly accentuate the catchy melodies in what seems to be another popular hit single.
ASTR once again shows high-quality in their music. There’s not a track they came out with that we do not favor. With an everchanging sound, sky is the limit for the duo.
Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 2]
Last week we launched our new series, Sunday Night Soul, and frankly, we were nearly surprised by the tremendous reception. That’s put a little pressure on us to repeat that success, and we think we’ve accomplished that here. Volume 2 is just as strong as Volume 1, if not better, with features as diverse as Tev’n‘s minimalistic “Rose Petal” to the comedic stylings of R. Kelly‘s “Italian Hero Sandwich.” Of course we’ve got many other soulful offerings from artists like Marian Hill, Bedlam, DB2, Tink, Tinashe, and many more. Now before you get a case of the Mondays, make sure to deal yourself a proper dose of relaxation as you plug in your headphones, lay back and the let the music take its course.
Hold On, We’re Going For The Remix – The Best Remixes & Covers of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”
Last week was Drake‘s birthday (October 24th), and in order to properly celebrate his 27th year on this earth, we’ve put together a nice little belated gift for October’s Very Own. Below we’ve compiled 22 (because 20 just wasn’t enough) of the best covers and remixes of possibly the most addicting single to drop this year, “Hold On, We’re Going Home.” It’s almost astonishing how many unique renditions of the track we were able to find during our search, making it incredibly tough to narrow down our selection. Nonetheless, we’ve broken them down for you into two separate collections of 11 songs each, listed in no particular order. Even the staunchest Drizzy haters will find something to enjoy here, with revisions that range from the garage rock stylings of Arctic Monkeys to the festival friendly Max Methods refix and everything in between.
Check out all the different selections below, and let us know if there’s any that we might’ve missed!
