[Electronic] Louis The Child – Love Is Alive (Chet Porter Remix)

Louis The Child
Love Is Alive (Chet Porter Remix)

Friday has officially kicked in and loads of amazing fresh tunes just keep flowing in. One that caught our ears is the latest from Toronto-native Chet Porter by way of an official remix of Louis The Child’sLove Is Alive.”

This one stuck out like sore thumb due to the drastic difference in sound that we’re used to hearing from Chet. He traded in his mellow, indie-pop synths for a heavy bassline and melody soaked vocal chops of Elohim’s dynamic voice. Every element blends wonderfully in this Summery take of the original. Don’t forget to peep the dates for Chet’s first headlining tour this Fall, and see if he’ll be traveling to a city near you!

[Electronic] Chet Porter ft. Chelsea Cutler – Stay

Chet Porter - Stay

Anytime a new artist joins the Foreign Family Collective roster, we simply cannot contain our excitement. The new addition is none other than Chet Porter, the Canadian producer who we sat down with a while back to talk about the upbringing of his sound following his release of “Awakening”. Chet teamed up with singer Chelsea Cutler for “Stay”, the 11th installment by the collective behind duo Odesza. Incorporating a mellow and joyous melody with Chelsea’s dreamy vocals, Chet manages to create another unconventional track that utilizes the style of storytelling. The buildup leads to synth bursts that create an ecstatic vibe that resembles the sound of Porter Robinson. It’s definitely a potential anthem everyone could get familiar with.

Joining the likes of Jai Wolf, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Big Wild, Chet Porter deservedly belongs in the FFC fam. Make sure to catch him at a show near you as he’s going on a North American tour in fall. Trust us – you don’t want to miss out on one of the biggest up and coming artists of 2016. Peep the tour dates below and you can get tickets here!

Saturday Selection Vol. 2

Saturday Selection

As we continue to dig deeper throughout the internet for music, we can get blindsided (in a good way) by a sound or voice we’ve never heard before. Maybe it’s a new style of production or a groove you can’t quite figure out the finer details of. It could even be a remix that completely reshapes your initial feelings of a song. Whatever it may entail, that slight bit of confusion or excitement you feel is the exact moment you know when you’re on to something. It’s a wonderful revelation, and that’s what this playlist is all about. Time to explore!

Diveliner

Diveliner – Catwalk

It’s been a little over a year since we covered Diveliner last, and the wait was certainly worth it. Diveliner thrives in almost total anonymity, and his newest effort reflect his ability to cut through saturated sounds and build up his own monumental creation. The jarring and filtered vocals scatter across the shadowy production with a robotic flourish. It would almost be disconcerting if it wasn’t so well-made. If you’re looking for something conventional in Diveliner, you won’t find it. That’s exactly what makes his mystery his own. Luckily, he has an EP on the way, and “Catwalk” is an encouraging second addition to his upcoming project.

Kidswaste

Chet Porter – tbh ily (Kidswaste Remix)

Even as Moving Castle continues to explode in size and popularity, they’ve found their sound and stuck with it for a few years now. Recently, Kidswaste has hopped on board, and his first release with the label is a charming and melodic remix of Chet Porter. It reworks all of the best elements of Chet’s gorgeous original into a slightly more upbeat and orchestral tune, while simultaneously allowing the power and precision of Kidswaste’s talent shine through. It’s really just a nice listen and has an undeniable replay value. If you dig it, be sure to treat yourself to the free download also!

Limbic Void

Limbic Void – Little Boy

Some memories are nice. Other are not. Limbic Void constructs “Little Boy” around the latter. It’s really quite an interesting juxtaposition. Even with boisterous production, the lyrics paint a different picture entirely. He sings about a time he wasn’t proud of. That isn’t easy to do. He encapsulates a past pain into something beautiful, and it’s honestly made us do some reflecting of our own. Be on the lookout for his EP dropping on May 26th.

SiR

SiR – Tricky (Prod. Rascal)

Everything about this tune by SiR is phenomenal. From the slick production of Rascal, to the smooth delivery of every pining line, “Tricky” is a triumph. If you’re in need of an excellent late night song, stop right here and hit play. It’s the kind of track that provides an instant calm. Everything slows down and seems much less complicated. You begin to get caught up in the moment. It’s exceptional. End your day right with “Tricky” and absorb every subtle nuance of this sleek SiR invention. Watch this to understand how InventHelp guides inventors.

Blancos

The Blancos – Wild Child

The Blancos are a wild bunch, as clearly stated by the name of their most recent release. Having premiered with Pigeons & Planes earlier this week, this duo continues the wonderful blurring of lines between genres that more and more artists have taken to applying. With a little bit of rock, alternative, and even a tinge of blues, The Blancos swagger can’t and won’t be stopped. “Wild Child” explores the feelings of an outcast with a grit that is oddly welcoming, and most people catch themselves relating to this sort of thought process at some point in their life. Why not enjoy a great song to soundtrack it with while you’re at it?

Over U (Chet Porter Remix)

If you haven’t heard of Chet Porter, now is the time. The Toronto-based producer has spent most of the summer making dope tunes and refining his sound. His newest track is this remix of Hitmane‘s “Over U”, which perfectly exhibits Chet’s skill set as a producer. The chill trap beat brings out the exuberant melodies, and the crafty samples taking the catchy drops to a whole other level. Chet incorporates his signature harp-like synth in the breakdown, resulting in intricate melodies that will leave you vibing.

We are thoroughly impressed by the genre-bending approach to Chet Porter’s music, which takes different elements from a song and pieces them together with such delicate maneuvers. Make sure to be on the lookout for more dope tracks coming your way from Chet.

[Electronica] Chet Porter – pls stay the night (Zedd cover)

chet porter
pls stay the night

You may or may not have heard of Chet Porter, but trust me, you want to take a listen to this. Stripping the Zedd hit single “Stay The Night” into bare bones, Chet Porter incorporated his electronica-based signature into the tune. A light future trap beat is used to accentuate the bold synth, creating an uplifting vibe supported by the chipmunked vocals. The feel-good approach and the complexity of the track almost resemble the sound of Tennyson, in which both of their music have the ability to have you completely tuned in with full attention. Unexpected vocal samples and loud synth will put you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole track, and you’ll be wondering why it has ended so soon.

Holla at the talented Canadian producer and grab a free download of the track here! His music deserves way more attention and we all know it!
