O R I O N – Gold Dust ft. Cammie Robinson

This song is from a little while ago, but it was new to us and instantly caught our ears. O R I O N put together a beautiful brain-melter with “Gold Dust”, and the sparse, but angelic vocals of Cammie Robinson are the icing on the cake. The innate feeling of escapism creeps out throughout the tune, and you’ll want to go explore the world as it plays. Enjoy this one on a bright and day. You’ll feel absolutely wonderful.

SWIMS – Bedrooms

SWIMS is an exciting new duo that combines the best of trap, R&B, and electronic music into a breezy and ethereal creation. Optimized for complete relaxation, “Bedrooms” stands as a strong debut for these two. It’s a serenade with all the right trappings. It hits all the right spots. Soak this one in with a special someone tonight.

midnight – Native America (feat. The Internet)

The combination of midnight and The Internet is impossible to be apathetic about. Touching on the marred past of the United States, these talented people describe the constant push for the best life available in a seductive fashion that gives the message a new appearance. We’ve been hooked on midnight ever since his XXI Labors EP, and seeing him work with The Internet to deliver such a powerful message only solidifies our admiration of his work. Find some time to really sit and reflect on these lyrics.

Goldlink – Unique (Louis Futon Remix)

This one is simply fun. That’s no surprise, coming from Louis Futon. He decided to return to his earlier remix roots by flipping this Goldlink and Anderson Paak original into absolutely irresistible scorcher of a dance tune. We’re not even sure what the best part of it is, but there is one thing we know for sure. It’s ALL great. Kick off the shift into warm weather with this one.

The Geek x Vrv – Coming Up’ Feat Kellylee Evans & Atom

So much soul. The Geek x Vrv never fails to bring out the best funk, hip-hop, and soul crossovers with their material, and “Coming Up” is a vibrant new addition to their stellar sound. Featuring a fourth of C2C and the striking singing of Kellylee Evans, this song triumphs on its 90s rap atmosphere and style that’s revamped and repurposed into a more modern sound. You can’t NOT bob your head. We’re making sure to keep the double negative there just so you know we MEAN it. Throw this tune on when you just want to groove.

You Were Right (Louis Futon Remix)

This tune is a match made in heaven. “You Were Right” by RÜFÜS DU SOL, the electronic act from Australia, is getting reworked by Louis Futon. The producer from Philly has been killing it following the success of “Wasted On You”, and keeps the ball rolling with this amazing remix.

The original is spiced up with a deep house change-up towards the beginning, and the drop comes in as a huge surprise. Synth bursts and a slower tempo highlights the epic switch, and continues to provide a series of eargasms throughout the track. This is yet another classic display of Louis Futon’s wide selection of sounds, as he shows just about every future sound in this delicious tune. Be sure to support the Foreign Family if you like what you hear – they’re definitely bringing in unbelievable talents together, as exemplified in this cool remix.

Wasted On You (feat. ROZES)

Louis Futon was unofficially the remix king of 2015, crafting some of our favorite renditions of songs from Gallant, Phony Ppl, G-Eazy, and ODESZA, among others. Returning with his first release of the new year, the gifted producer takes all that he learned from those experiences and teams up with fellow Philadelphia native ROZES to create one of his most impressive original masterpieces to date in “Wasted On You.” Despite the dismissive nature of its lyrics, the sensationally vibrant single is guaranteed to lift your spirits, no matter your mood.

The track is the eighth release through ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective, of which the duo had this to say about the unique collaboration:

We’ve always been a fan of Louis Futon because of his incredible ability to excel in any genre he produces and this track is no exception. With vocals by the very talented ROZES, “Wasted On You” is a euphoric anthem that fuses distorted synths, airy vocals and pulsing percussion work.

Kick your weekend off the right way by streaming the tune above, and if you like it (we know you will), make sure to support the artist and grab a copy from iTunes as well.

Weight In Gold (Louis Futon Remix)

Gallant‘s “Weight in Gold,” and all his music thus far for that matter, has been hitting the Internet with waves of emotion in recent months inspiring top producers to take a stab at remixing his heart-wrenching sound. Philly-bred producer and TMN favorite Louis Futon is the latest to take on the instant classic but, rather than try to completely change the original’s vibe, he accentuates and elevates its most powerful moments taking it to new heights. Injecting his enormous sound, Louis Futon makes probably our favorite flip yet of the hit single. Try this one out for getting you over the mid-week hump.

Ahead of the Curve: Kill Paris and Louis Futon Shine at Mezzanine, SF 4/25 [Event Review]

KillParisWritten and photographed by Dominic Powell

Boulder-based Kill Paris‘ self described “future funk” sound has evolved as a result of his ability to adapt and remain at the cutting edge of the future electronic landscape over a 4+ year career under the moniker. His most recent album, Galaxies Between Us, truly captures his progression combining an atmospheric, other-worldly aesthetic with intricate, often playful, elements of electronic dance music. Over the weekend, Eye Heart SF brought both Kill Paris and Louis Futon, another ninja favorite, to Mezzanine in San Francisco for a night full of forward-thinking music that rattled the dance floor. LF

’G Eazy – Lets Get Lost Ft. Devon Baldwin (Louis Futon Remix)’
’Louis Futon – Sir Rock’

Since he first began putting out original productions in late 2013, Louis Futon has been growing his musically inclined fan base one smooth track at a time. His remixes of G-Eazy, Logic, and Future have served as a blue print for other artists who have jumped on board with the lyric-heavy future genre in recent months. Additionally, the Philadelphian’s original productions such as “Sir Rock” (featured prominently in Ta-Ku’s popular mixtape) and “Drnuk” have put to rest any doubt about Louis Futon’s artistic talents.  His set perfectly brought that sound to life captivating the audience with a unique fusion of future electronic, hip-hop and funk. Louis Futon’s remix of G-Eazy’s “Lets Get Lost” had the whole crowd singing along and his originals pushed the boundaries of club anthems.

’Kill Paris – Baby Come Back’
’Kill Paris – Operate ft Royal’

In a testament to his instrumental abilities, Kill Paris took the stage wielding an impressive array of devices: a Livid CNTRL:R MIDI controller, Pioneer CDJ’s, and a Roland AX-Synth 49-Key Keytar Synthesizer. He jumped right into his set, getting the crowd going with his own unique outer space blend of electronic music. His new material from Galaxies Between Us was well received by the crowd. At one point, he stepped out from behind his CDJ’s and began playing his Keytar while high fiving the frenzied crowd. He managed to play a healthy dose of his newer music while allowing the crowd to get involved and jump around to his older tunes, such as “Baby Come Back“. KP also mixed in some songs by his favorite artists – Cashmere Cat and Porter Robinson – before ending with his hit Royal-featuring single, “Operate.”

The combination of Louis Futon and Kill Paris made for a truly dynamic and inspiring night with a diverse representation of the future of electronic music. If either are coming through your city, we’d highly recommend checking them out–you can find upcoming dates for KP here and LF here. In the meantime, check out some more photos from the show below. All We Need (Louis Futon Remix) Feat. Shy Girls

Fresh off of a new EP, Louis Futon has decided to hit us with yet another outstanding remix. As the number of Odesza remixes continues to multiply, some can get lost in the madness, but Louis Futon takes a slight deviation from your typical renditions with an almost R&B edge. Retaining the sultry Shy Girls vocals, this tune bounces along nicely with purpose and a presence that sits comfortably amongst prior releases in Louis Futon’s collection. Odesza could easily play the entirety of their festival circuit with the remixes that have been put out of them (just on ‘Say My Name’ alone), but this version of ‘All We Need’ is sure to finds its way into their sets and plenty of other artists’ as well. It’s a just a fun tune overall that’s equal parts sensual and upbeat. Yet again, we’re lucky as fans because it’s up for a free download, so don’t hesitate to grab it HERE.
