[Electronic] Louis The Child – Love Is Alive (Chet Porter Remix)

Louis The Child
Love Is Alive (Chet Porter Remix)

Friday has officially kicked in and loads of amazing fresh tunes just keep flowing in. One that caught our ears is the latest from Toronto-native Chet Porter by way of an official remix of Louis The Child’sLove Is Alive.”

This one stuck out like sore thumb due to the drastic difference in sound that we’re used to hearing from Chet. He traded in his mellow, indie-pop synths for a heavy bassline and melody soaked vocal chops of Elohim’s dynamic voice. Every element blends wonderfully in this Summery take of the original. Don’t forget to peep the dates for Chet’s first headlining tour this Fall, and see if he’ll be traveling to a city near you!

Louis The Child Talks “Fire”, Pop Music & San Diego [TMN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

Louis The Child
Fire

If you haven’t heard of Louis The Child by now, you must be living under a rock. The LA-based dance-pop duo took the dance music world by storm last year with their hit single “It’s Strange”, which now has over 10 MILLION plays on Soundcloud. Robby and Freddy just recently played CRSSD Fest in San Diego, and we had a chance to briefly catch up with them before their epic “sunset set”. Listen to their new single “Fire” featuring Evalyn and check out the interview after the jump.

TMN: I want to start off by saying welcome to San Diego! And how’d you guys like it here so far? Have you guys been here before?

It’s SO PRETTY here. The festival is right by the water, it’s awesome. We’ve played at Bang Bang last year or so, also played at UCSD. Other than that, we haven’t really been here much.

TMN: Actually, I saw your Snapchat story yesterday, where you teamed up with UberEATS to deliver goodie bags to people. Can you tell us a little bit about that?

We delivered these goodie bags to like three people. They had to order them and they didn’t know it was going to be us delivering to them, and they were all pretty excited to meet us. They all knew who we are. And on top of that, I mean – we gave them all free tickets to CRSSD haha.

[Festival Review] CRSSD Epic Weekend Recap

crssd2016_1001_164512-2828_flg

(PC: Felicia Garcia / CRSSD Fest)

San Diego’s Waterfront Park hosted its fourth CRSSD Fest this weekend, a place that’s become home to lovers of electronic music across the entire Southern Californian region. Maintaining a similar aesthetic to the previous CRSSD festivals at the park, the scene was filled with feelings of a tropical escape, an escape that differs only so slightly from that of the city the event is held in, but it’s the difference that gives patrons a feeling that they’ve left home and arrived at a new one. The lineup, as always, was stacked with legends and exciting up and comers alike. TMN had the opportunity to check out the show, and we’ve got a full run-down below.

The fest kicked off its first day with huge names like MK, Justin Martin, Miike Snow, Cashmere Cat, and Bonobo. As per usual, Dirtybird showed up in big numbers, and Justin Martin’s set and Shiba San’s set were ones to remember. There’s always something so special about the Dirtybird crowd. Knowing that all of your lives were probably touched at one point by Shiba’s track “OKAY” is a strong bond that not many other labels can achieve, and Shiba’s set was filled with all the depth and bass one would imagine. Justin Martin’s headlining set drew crowds that were worthy of his talent, and the set was an hour and a half of pure bliss. And while Justin Martin was taking everyone on a journey at one side of the festival, house music legend Marc Kinchen (aka MK) was giving everyone an education on the other side of the fest. Pioneering house music with tracks like “Always” from the 90s, MK has his finger on the pulse of house music now more than ever. We were ecstatic to see him headlining, getting all of the glory that he deserves.

[Event Review] Electric Zoo Day 3 + Playlist

In case you weren’t able to make it out to Randall’s Island for this year’s Electric Zoo, TMN’s got you covered. We were lucky to catch some pretty amazing performances from artists like Getter, Lil Dicky, Louis The Child, Valentino Khan, and many more.

The minute we stepped onto the premise, we were bedazzled by the stages. The Cobra Stage in particular had us in a state of awe, with a design almost unimaginable. Of course, our attention was quickly steered away by the lineup we didn’t want to miss. Getting our day’s fill of bass and hip hop from the Buygore stage from acts like GTA, Borgore, and Juicy J, we then made way to the Riverside stage to catch a vivacious set from Andrew Bayer. We closed out the eventful night at the main stage for a spectacular set from The Chainsmokers, where we enjoyed an array of music from some alternative classics to their charting originals.

As this year’s festival was jam-packed with an assortment of fantastic performances, we thought we’d put together a playlist to highlight a few of our favorites!

’Weekend’
’Borgore Ft. G
Eazy – Forbes (Getter Remix)’
’All I Need (One Mo Drank)’
’Molly (feat. Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco)’
’Pierce Fulton – Borrowed Lives Feat. NVDES’
’The Chainsmokers – KANYE Ft. Siren’

DJ SoySauce – Broken Record ft. Joni Fatora (Louis The Child Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

SoySauce
Broken Record (feat. Joni Fatora) (Louis The Child Remix)

Now that the cats out of the bag about DJ SoySauce’s true identity (1/2 of the project is Royals), we can’t help but feel the anxiety within us come to a subtle end. The anonymity behind that project drove us through the wall and into a realm of high blood pressure and insomnia. Now that that’s finally over, we can go back to sharing the latest internet-breaking tune from TMN favorite’s, Louis The Child, and their sensational remix of DJ SoySauce’s, “Broken Record” featuring Joni Fatora.

Louis The Child are a couple of young kids who just happen to have quite the knack for producing…and slaying the Hype Machine charts like a Nord slays a dragon in Skyrim. Today we are absolutely thrilled to be premiering their remix of “Broken Record” and can confidently say that this is one of the most phenomenal pieces they’ve crafted yet. Without straying too far from the original, Louis The Child transform this DJ Soysauce gem into a head bobbing, futuristic, hella fun anthem of 2015. Filled with beautifully side-chained synths, a cheerful progression, and fun little breakdowns to make us feel like we’re 6 years old in a candy store, LTC give us a delicious new rendition to make our ears and mouth crave more. As we try to find a remedy to settle this sweet tooth (other than the repeat button and a pint of Ben & Jerry’s), make sure you pick up your free download and add an extra scoop of happiness to your day because LTC is about to boost your mood like never before.
