Earlier this week, our friends over at Soulection were able to reach a landmark milestone, as they officially surpassed the 100,000 follower count on SoundCloud. While this may not seem like a very monumental achievement to some of you out there, to us it speaks volumes about the future of music and the direction it’s currently headed in. Since we first started this series back in 2013, we’ve seen immense growth in genres which often go by the names of future R&B, alternative R&B and future bass, among others. Pioneers like ESTA, Sango, Kaytranada and Lakim have helped lead the charge in shaping the face of music for years to come, and there’s no doubt that we’ll look back fondly to these early days once they’ve surely taken the industry by storm. Don’t be surprised to be seeing these producers working with some of your favorite artists soon.
