[House] Claire – Games (Henry Krinkle Remix)

Claire
Games (Henry Krinkle Remix)

Have you ever played on Daisy Slots online and happened to hear some great music? It was probably Henry Krinkle’s Game. Henry Krinkle is well known for his beautifully constructed remixes, which seamlessly blend genres together and often out-do the original pieces themselves. Although the talented Estonian began producing under the Taxi Driver alias in 2012, the pinnacle of his notoriety came following the release of an original production, “Stay”, in 2014 – which currently has over 48 million plays. Coupled with remixes of Odesza and Cyril Hahn, Henry Krinkle has certainly proved to have staying power in the industry.

His latest release, a remix of Claire’s “Games,” is an old production from 2012 just now seeing the light of day. Games showcases the familiar and effective style of his previous hits, weaving a catchy, progressive, polysynth beat around the beautifully sung central lyric, “It’s alright as long as I can stay”. Krinkle’s uses of electronic percussions, alluringly repetitive vocals, and polyphonic structure in his songs are easily recognizable and certainly hold up against the most technical of scrutiny. The dynamic section from 3:10-4:50 is especially impressive.

Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to catch Krinkle on tour soon but, in the meantime, we hope that more productions will be released soon. If you love “Games” as much as we do, download it above, and check out his bandcamp here.

Last ft. Joel Ford

After a nearly three month hiatus, Cyril Hahn‘s newest single, “Last,” proves more than worth the wait. The highly regarded Vancouver-based producer teamed up with a relative newcomer in Brooklyn-based vocalist Joel Ford in creating his latest masterpiece. The end product of their collaboration is a lengthy single, running over five minutes, complete with all of the synth and bass one would expect from previous Cyril Hahn hits such as “Perfect Form“.

“Last” portrays the musical talents of Cyril Hahn, who has been able to build on a recipe that has provided him so much success, while also demonstrating his ability to constantly advance his signature brand of house music.

[House] Cyril Hahn & Javeon – Breaking

Breaking

Canadian house producer Cyril Hahn has had perhaps the most unassuming rise in comparison to any other producer over the past few years. What began as a college hobby of pumping out remixes for his friends,  soon turned into blogosphere wildfire when his smooth and pitched down deep remix of Destiny’s Child registered over a million plays within months. Since that spark, the entire indie world over from pop-enthusiasts, rock aficionados and of course dance gurus have seemed to take a bit of a shine to Hahn’s accessible and polished productions. Coming off of a debut EP Perfect Form back in October on tastemaking electronic imprint PMR, it looks like we’ve caught the young Canuck in the midst of a musical stride so to speak with his newest original collaboration with the talented and lovely Javeon, “Breaking”. The tune itself functions a little bit closer to synth-pop territory than usual for Hahn, who is clearly influenced by the Bristolian upstart. “Breaking” molds itself on top of a looming, 80’s leaning MIDI hook, and constant pumping bass line- and of course, it just wouldn’t be right to have Cyril Hahn’s name on this one unless there was a silky stellar vocal track there to pull its listener along.

“Breaking” will be available as part of  PMR Records (part of the brains behind finding Jessie Ware and Disclosure) debut sampler 20 Square Feet in Action which has yet to receive an official release date. Stream it above.

Let's Go Dancing (Need & Necessity Remix)

Finding lesser known talent whom exhibit immense musical skill is part of what keeps the engine driving here at TMN, which is a sliver of the reason we have taken such a shine to house duo Need & Necessity. In keeping with the steady slate of dance tracks we’ve been bringing you ninjas this week, we’re delivering the rising production unit’s take on one of this writer’s favorite house jams of 2013, Tiga vs. Audion’s “Let’s Go Dancing”. Need & Necessity have completely reworked the drums off of the emotive original, simultaneously jacking up the hi’s exactly to our liking while shifting towards a much deeper end of the house spectrum in the process. It’s clear to see that with recent live performances supporting powerhouse acts like Cyril Hahn, Ryan Hemsworth and Duke Dumont that all of that up close experience with some of the world’s best producers is translating quite nicely into some polished production. Stream the tune above, and as a thanks to their fans hitting a recent milestone on Facebook, you can download Need & Necessity’s remix of “Let’s Go Dancing” here.
