Krayysh – Talk to Me EP [TMN Premiere]

If you aren’t familiar with Krayysh, you’ve come to the right place. There are a lot of gems out there, but Krayysh may just be the finest. The Mad Zoo music maker has support from the don Mat Zo himself – so much so that Mat graced Krayysh with a remix on the newly released Talk To Me EP. We’ve got that EP right here for you in this premiere!

Talk To Me comes in at four originals deep along with Mat Zo’s remix of the title track to conclude the project. We’ve only been able to hear singles from Krayysh so far and as mind-blowing as they are, it’s nice to see him flex out on an extended release. He shows just where he can take his sound with a diverse array of tracks that can’t be pinned down to one genre. Krayysh has got his own thing going and it’s remarkable to hear. Top all that off with a Mat Zo remix and you’ve got a hell of an EP. Get your copy of it today.

Mat Zo & Kill The Noise present Kill The Zo: Part I (Krayysh Remix)

If you’re not too careful with Krayysh‘s remix of “Kill The Zo: Part I” several things could happen. Your speakers could be blasted into oblivion, you’ll rage yourself into a psychotic episode, or both could take place. That’s just the tip of the iceberg of the dangers of this epic remix.

Released officially on MAD ZOO, this re-imagined take on the classic collab between Mat Zo and Kill The Noise is beyond phenomenal. From the start you know you’re getting something special and what comes is nothing short of extraordinary. Krayysh brought more than his A-game, delivering a remix that’s jam packed with top quality sound design and writing. If this is a taste of what’s to come from Krayysh, then bass producers are going to have to step their game up to keep in touch with this Toronto talent.

[Electronic] Mat Zo – MAD EP

As I sit down to write up the MAD EP by Mat Zo, I’m at a loss for words. Not even in just describing the project, but just in general. The MAD EP is that good; it’s going to mess with your brain and you’re not going to be able to think straight.

The whole project, including the artwork, is damn near perfect. The three track EP was released by Mat’s label Mad Zoo in conjunction with his tour announcement. From the start of the first track, “Trogoldyte,” Mat puts the listener in a trance with a majestic introduction that sounds as though it was created by Elfman for the beginning of a Burton flick. From there it moves into a celestial, bass-heavy production. With “Take It Back” Mat gets down and dirty with a hip-hop tinged original featuring Foreign Beggars. Although he has come so far, you get to hear some of his drum & bass influences from his early days as a producer. The same can be said for “MAD” who’s jungle sound will get any party pumping. It really will make you go mad.

The artwork embodies the sounds of the EP to a T. We’ve been bumping this since it was released two weeks ago. If it’s somehow slipped under your radar, give it a listen. If you’ve already heard it, you know you wanna play it again. MAD is currently available on digital stores. If you would like to see Mat during his tour, check out his dates below!

Introducing our Next Resident Artist — Mat Zo [TMN Residency]

If you peep the backlogs of TMN, you’ll find posts about Mat Zo dating back as far as 2012. After bursting onto the scene during EDM’s heyday with a refreshing sound, Zo has continued to push his style forward to one so encompassing that you never know what to expect when you hit play in the best way possible.

In the 3 years since his Grammy-nominated debut album, Mat Zo has continued to pour out free downloads on his Soundcloud page remaining an influential producer while some other artists of the same generation grew stale. His 2016  sophomore album Self Assemble, captures that adventurous spirit displaying Zo’s versatility and growth as a musician since his debut. Playing out like one seamless and intentionally cinematic experience, the album spans bass / tech house, future funk / soul, electro-pop and even dubstep.

Mat Zo’s catalogue embodies much of what we love about electronic music–a penchant for innovation paired with the undeniable talent to pull off extensive experimentation. It’s for that reason that we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him as our latest Resident Artist. Over the next month, stay tuned for exclusive Mat Zo content on TMN. In the meantime, check out a medley of tunes from his latest album below.

MRSA & Parallax – Recurring Dream (Mat Zo Remix) [ANTHEM]

mat zo

Mat Zo has been playing this track out live, and it’s nothing short of amazing. He revisits the sound design he used in “Easy” with Porter Robinson, featuring some infectious melodies and incredible synth work. This was ripped from Arty’s EDC NY set that aired on Sirius XM. Mat throws a euphoric spin on MRSA & Parallax’s drum and bass track “Recurring Dream”. This track was originally believed to be a collab between Arty and Mat Zo or Arty and Porter, but now we think it’s Mat Zo’s remix. Cheers.

[Progressive House] Porter Robinson & Mat Zo – Easy (Extended Mix)

After plenty of previews and radio rips, we finally have the true extended mix of Porter Robinson and Mat Zo‘s massive collaboration, and boy do they make it look easy. “Easy” is a happy-go-lucky affair with light, airy vocals and pumping synths that’ll make you want to jump out of your seat and dance right on the spot. Seriously, try to resist the urge to blast this out of your speakers right now (please refrain from doing this if you’re at work or a library at the moment). This track makes for a perfect way to wrap up the year and celebrate the forthcoming of a new one; and for those of you who are just finishing your finals, we at TMN all hope they were (relatively) easy.
