[Electronic/Experimental] Sampha – Slow Lights

Sampha
Slow Lights

Over the last few years, rising producer/singer Sampha has worked on projects with SBTRKT, Drake, and released a six-track solo EP, Dual, in 2013. Needless to say, fans are anxious to get their hands on his upcoming debut album. According to a new post from Sampha, it’s currently in the works, and he has a brand new track to share with the world.

His latest comes in the form of a new instrumental (emphasis on the -mental) track “Slow Lights.” Spacey synth arrangements fade in and out of one another as Sampha adds a heavenly vocal extension into the mix, resulting in a three-minute ride through psychedelic soundscapes and off the wall production. Check out the track above and be on the lookout for more music from Sampha in the near future.

Too Much Ft. Sampha (Love Thy Brother Remix)

For all you ninjas looking to celebrate the passage of hump day, production duo Love thy Brother, who are in fact brothers, have got you covered. On their latest release, the Montreal-based producers flip Drake‘s “Too Much” into a groovy, danceable track. With just Sampha‘s chorus and a few brief portions of Drizzy’s verse, this rework takes on its own feel that is miles from the somber and introspective original. Rather, the brothers throw in some upbeat drums and an incredibly addicting disco bassline making it hard not to bob your head.

Get your weekend going early with some funky good-vibe music above. You can grab the song for free at Love thy Brother’s Facebook page by hitting the Buy link in the player.
