I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t love a good cookout and the Boston trio The Dean’s List keep it classy with this end of summer jam “Hennessy at Cookouts”. With this delicious dope anthem to a glass of cognac with a burger or a white girl with some kool-aid, the Northeastern group delivers some luxurious rhymes over the echoing voices in the Alexander Mendoza beat. In a way this track keeps the mood of the end of summer while members Sonny Shotz and Mik Beatz deliver some fast-paced rhymes. As a Boston-native and rising fan of the the group, I couldn’t help but give this track a listen. I am feeling the departure from the electro beats The Dean’s List have done in the past to the more underground, chill rap-oriented vibe, but just wished they added at least one more verse or bridge at the end.
