[Folk] Daughter – His Young Heart EP

Daughter has been very busy since we last featured a track from her ‘Demos’ EP (listen here). The London-based singer-songwriter (known as Elena Tonra to her friends) has created a new EP, ‘His Young Heart’. Born out of reclusive recording sessions with her boyfriend, it showcases Tonra’s vast talent with both melody and heart-rending lyrics whilst retaining a fairly low-key sound. It’s hard to pick a highlight from the four tracks on the EP, but ‘Landfill’ has an emotional intensity that is almost overwhelming in it’s beauty. ‘His Young Heart’ will put Daughter on the map, and make her one of folk’s new icons. ‘His Young Heart’ is available from ohdaughter.bandcamp.com.
