Very rarely, you come across a band that you just know are something special. Jared Mees & The Grown Children are one such group. Hailing from Portland, this folk-pop five-piece (made up of some seriously talented multi-instrumentalists) have been around for a while, but their forthcoming third album ‘Only Good Thoughts Can Stay’ has the tunes that could propel them to stardom. Highlight tracks ‘Shake’ and ‘Hungry Like A Tiger’ sucker-punch the listener with the simply breath-taking array of talent on display, all packaged in effortless-sounding cool and irresistible catchiness. Jared Mees & The Grown Children are still a fairly underground band, but don’t expect them to stay that way for long. ‘Hungry Like A Tiger’ and ‘Shake’ are featured on forthcoming album ‘Only Good Thoughts Can Stay’, available from May 10 via Tender Loving Empire.
