NYC act The Color Bars dropped their third record, ‘Prosopopoeia’ this week, and it’s garnering positive reviews from all over the blogosphere. An eclectic mix of electro and psych-rock, the band (led by Gerald Slevin) have brought an intensity to their tracks, especially highlights ‘Mustached Messiah’ (a highly-praised single) and ‘Structopoppie Rally’. Both show off The Color Bars’ talent of turning complex instrumentals and and unusual lyrics into perfect pop earworms. With infectious tunes such as these, ‘Prosopopoeia’ could give The Color Bars the breakthrough the band certainly deserve.
