Pepper Rabbit are a Los Angeles duo, and although their music screams America, it’s less California surf-pop and more haunting folk-country. This talented pair have been around for a while, and I can’t believe it took this long to find them and these great little tracks. ‘Older Brother’ is an endearing ballad with soft piano and twee vocals adding bundles of charm to the track. ‘Babette’ is stuffed with accordions and pounding drums, creating a beautiful love song that leaves the listener floating on a blissful cloud. Pepper Rabbit’s music may not be innovative, but when it’s done so well, the only option is to listen and love.
