Austin’s Sleep ∞ Over could easily be dismissed as one of those bands with a funny symbol in their name. You’d be completely wrong to do so, though. Led by vocalist Stepfanie Franciotti, Sleep ∞ Over make the kind of ethereal psych-pop that excites the soul in the most beautiful way. Take ‘Romantic Streams’, for example. Like an even more blissed-out Cocteau Twins, the song floats on feather-light synth and drum beats, almost fading out completely around the halfway point before returning stronger than before. A perfectly haunting track, ‘Romantic Streams’ is set to get the blogosphere salivating at the prospect of Sleep ∞ Over’s forthcoming debut. ‘Romantic Streams’ features on the album ‘Forever’, out September 27.
