The Pains of Being Pure at Heart
Eurydice

Few bands are better at packing in a decade’s worth of 80s nostalgia into one song than The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. Following in the footsteps of “Simple and Sure,” the first single off their upcoming LP Days of Abandon, Pains have released the fuzzy, reverb-soaked “Eurydice.” An ode to the Greek myth Eurydice (wife to fabled Orpheus), this track starts off with a hazy, melodic intro that evolves into an upbeat pop anthem that is just as, if not more, enjoyable than the band’s previous efforts. Days of Abandon promises to be a refreshing take on the band’s already unmistakable and innovative dream-pop sound. The album is out May 13. Get the single on iTunes here.
