Jumpin (Prod By Josh December)

After dropping a song that even Kate Hudson was bumping, Kaiydo is setting himself up for a massive 2017. You may know him from “Fruit Punch”, but his new tune flips the script yet again for the versatile young artist into a slight throwback sound that’s once again orchestrated by his partner-in-crime, Josh December. It comes as no surprise that he’s already playing festivals like Governors Ball, and this kid has nowhere to go but up from here. Throwing on “Jumpin'” at your next party is a guaranteed win, and if you missed out on his Colors & Sounds project, you’ll want to catch up immediately. Keep your week moving in the right direction with new Kaiydo and be ready for his debut mixtape Kartoons on the way!

So far, Kaiydo has delivered three tracks (one of which we recently covered) that span a wide range of hip-hop influence, and the fourth, “Lottery,” continues this precedent with a smooth blend of all of the previous work from his Colors & Sounds project. Even with a more restrained and mellow production, Kaiydo freely fires off bar after bar with an effortless ease that eclipses his burgeoning career with a sense of professional proficiency. Not only that, he has the tendency to lay down hooks that inherently get caught up in your head after the first listen, and that is certainly prevalent when it comes to “Lottery.”

This Florida rapper has a lot going on for him, and he’s only just beginning. However you approach the up-and-comers in hip-hop, you can’t deny their work ethic and ability to craft something noteworthy. If you’re wanting to compile some intriguing new artists in the realm of rap, Kaiydo should be at the top of your list.

Kaiydo is up next. It’s that simple. Following up the Sampha sampling “Arcade,” this dude drops another top notch song with a dose of energy that we’re sure you’re in need of on a Monday. “Reflections” is the third installment of his Colors & Sounds project, and it nicely balances out the massive hype of “Red Freestyle” and the smoothness of “Arcade.”

Kaiydo already has demonstrated his deft hand at writing catchy hooks and firing off speedy verses with this debut project so far, and, given the massive reception on each tune, he’s certainly poised for a breakout later this year. Once Colors & Sounds comes to fruition, we’ll get a better scope on just what Kaiydo is capable of, but “Reflections” stands strong on its own and makes a case for his highly probable popularity on the way. Each of these tracks explores his range as a rapper, and, more importantly, an overall artist since he is involved in his own production also. Keep your ears open for Kaiydo. There’s plenty of great stuff ahead.
