Who doesn’t like their social commentary served with a side of fun? Because this is the “Digital Age” that we’re living in, St. Vincent deemed it appropriate to discuss our unhealthy obsession with our screens (something Deadmau5 might agree with). Playful lyrics like “People turn their TV on, it looks just like a window,” and “If I can’t show it / If you can’t see me / What’s the point of doing anything,” really aim to understand the logic behind these behaviors. There’s no need to take the subject matter too seriously however, as “Digital Witness” has enough funky guitar riffs to get you up off your smart phone and shuffling towards the dancefloor.
