Future
Benz Friendz (Whatchutola) (Feat. Andre 3000)

When Future was brought out during Outkast‘s set at Coachella last weekend, the Atlanta native was given the opportunity to premiere this single live on stage with two of his city’s legends. Although the performance was received rather unenthusiastically by the audience in Indio, we could tell that the song had some promise. After the collaboration with Andre 3000 was found to be conspicuously missing from the live stream that MTV premiered earlier this week, we finally have the chance to hear the track in its full, studio quality form.

With his auto-tuned hybrid R&B trap rapping style, Future may be a polarizing figure for most hip-hop fans, but that shouldn’t stop you from listening to this album cut. As we all know appearances from Mr. 3 Stacks are few and far between these days, and every rare guest verse is a chance to gaze into the mind of one of music’s greatest. From the get go, the tune seems almost perfectly crafted for Dre himself, and his mastery of the mic is still undeniable. As the pair trade bars about their distaste for materialistic women and paper chasers, Future puts up a valiant effort, but alas, is no match for the wisdom of Andre 3K.

In the end, the record instead hypes us up for the prospects of a new Outkast album (or even an Andre solo project), however bleak the odds may be. This single can still be found however, on Future’s upcoming effort, Honest, set to drop Tuesday, April 22nd. You can also hit the jump to catch the visuals for Future’s recent Kanye-assisted single, “I Won.”
