Many of you may not be familiar with San Diego transplant Ta’East, but after listening to his dope new Sonata EP, his name won’t be easy to forget. The 8-track EP features some ambitious endeavors, utilizing notable samples on some of its standout tracks, including Jai Paul‘s “Jasmine” and The Weeknd‘s “Gone.” Ta’East covers a vast array of topics throughout ranging from the harsh realities of chasing love to aspirations of wealth and fame. The EP is greatly benefited from stellar production courtesy of Cairo Mayeson, Nyrell, Ken Price, and Hunga, that gives the project a very Kanye-esque feel. That’s particularly noticeable on tracks like “Bonnie” and “No Better.” Check out a few tracks from the EP down below, and if you like what you hear, you can download the entire Sonata EP for free on Ta’East’s Bandcamp page. You can also catch the official video for “Bonnie” after jump, just so you can put a face to the name.
