This band needs no introduction, yet took a facebook message of a friend to remind me of how great they really are. Named after the small coastal town just twelve miles away from their hometown in England, Portishead is a powerful trio with trip/hop and experimental influences originally known for their use of jazz and synthesized hip-hop beats paired with the beautiful yet haunting vocals of Beth Gibbons. Here we have a remixed version of “Roads” from their debut album Dummy as well as the much calmer “Half Day Closing” from their second self titled album Portishead released in 1997. Two calming songs to put you to sleep from all the partying done this weekend.
