What’s that? 40 already? Damn, this dojo’s gettin old. Don’t worry though, we’re still keepin it fresh and chill for all you hip young’uns to enjoy. We’re still cool, we promise.

To prove it, we’re getting things going with something called “trap music”. That’s what the young people are listening to these days, right? In any case, our starting track from  E M P T is magic to anyone’s ears, and demonstrates that the young Romanian producer is just oozing with talent. The perfectly crafted percussion and vocal builds in this jam will be testament to that. And while we’re shedding light on some notable up-and-comers, check out the smooth finesse on this silky remix from bedroom beatmaker fwdslxsh. This artist certainly won’t be contained to the bedroom for long though, because these are the kinds of sounds that are taking the world by storm right now. He’s definitely tapping into everything about the scene well, right down to the trend of replacing vowels with consonants in your moniker. But that’s enough talking about the new, because this next feature is about to make things old-school in a big way. Dojo favourite Lindsay Lowend is channeling some serious 90’s nostalgia with this one, masterfully crafting these cosmic vibes from soundfonts sampled from a bunch of Super Nintendo classics.  See if you can pick out a few. Now for all the talk of being on top of all that’s new, it’s hard to believe we slept on this amazing Daft Punk edit which emerged back when the 15 second sample of ‘Get Lucky’ was all it took to cause remix overload. Well since then this particular version has amassed over 1 million plays on Soundcloud, so that has to say something. And that something is that this track is freakin amazing. No matter if you are religiously against the remixing of Daft Punk or are sick of all the versions that are flooding the web (and the Chill Dojo has been guilty of posting a few), this is the one that deserves exception. JT’s  ‘Suit & Tie’ is definitely another tune which has received plenty of remix attention since its release, and while there have been many a version posted on past playlists, there’ll be no apology for this next one as well. With sleek chord progression from UK producer Pikcha, how can you resist this little number?

So after 40 editions, what’s the secret to ageing so gracefully? That’s easy. Always keep it chill. Peace out.
