It has been some time since we have heard some new solo heat from Detroit emcee Black Milk. Breaking his silence today, he drops a new lead single titled “Sunday’s Best, Monday’s Worst”. It has been almost 3 years since Milk’s last solo effort Album of the Year and with his latest track, he takes listeners to church. JDilla‘s disciple combines two songs as one continuous piece of dope music. The first part “Sunday’s best” is a gospel-laced with an underground appeal and the second part “Monday’s Best” brings the reverse, soulful tune that tells a sombre story.
It is a great listen for most hip-hop heads and really shows Milk’s lyrical prowess on the mic. Definitely worth a listen below and are available for download on iTunes now. Both tracks will be featured on Milk’s uncoming untitled new solo album dropping later this summer.
For the latest installment of Yours Truly + Adidas Songs from Scratch series, producer Shlohmo and R&B star Jeremih team up for a new track titled “Bo Peep (Do u right)”. After teasing fans with a promo vid of them working in the studio, the two artists put visual into a dope new audio release. Mixing some electronic echoing noises with a sensual beat, Shlohmo provides a a nice smooth set-up for Jeremih’s vocals. Jeremih is no stranger to bedroom anthems and this pairing of electronic and smooth vocals make for an addictive slow jam. Dropping his new fresh single “The Beginning” this afternoon, he returns to his traditional smooth sound. This Kanye West and David Tozer produced soulful jam finds the G.O.O.D. Music artist romancing listeners with some solid vocals over a piano and light drum beat. Coupled with some mellow string rips, Legend delivers a classic R&B/soul jam. This is the first single off his upcoming album Love in the Future.

After spending some time behind the scenes, Scottish singer/songwriter Emeli Sande has been making her name in the mainstream industry with her critically debut Our Version of Events. Now crossing over into international success, she pairs with Compton rap-star Kendrick Lamar for the US release/remix to “Next to Me”. Although a powerful ballad before, the addition of the aggressive and gritty two verses from the West coast emcee make for an interesting R&B/Hip-Hop collaboration.
