So over the past few weeks i’ve been exposed to a whole new world of VJ (Video Jockey) which is basically the visuals that go up and around an artist/DJ whilst playing live. I really struggled to find some good free footage and it took me so long  to find anything worthwile so I thought I’d put together a post to help out all you budding DJs & VJs along with the help of our good friends at Procrastinatus.

Procrastinatus

Having a member ( Emil Bardh) that later created visuals for some of TMN’s favourite artists, including Swedish House Maffia and Sebastian Ingrosso, the group Procratinatus decided to put their experimental project a HUGE 80–minutes audiovisual experience in HD on their site for free here

Beeple

So a lot of VJ artists owe a lot to Beeple. His work is placed online along with the cinema 4d files so you can go ahead an edit it too. This is a great example of an ‘open source’ internet in which creativity is placed online, not for profit, to help others. With so many free VJ clips to use – this is a great place to start for any VJ creator.

And I thought I’d finish off with one of my favourite videos that could be used as part of a VJ set. The geometric design here is amazing – it’s like watching mathematical genius create a video
