Daft Punk – Derezzed (Tron Legacy Soundtrack – NTEIBINT Remix)

Okay, so we might have slept on this one for a minute, but better late than never, right? As the “Tron Legacy” release nears, we anticipate the soundtrack to be the most exciting thing in electronic music this year, and with it an onslaught of remixes.”Derezzed” is one of expected great Daft Punk produced songs off the soundtrack. Their (ninjalike) mastery of both analog and digital synth sounds is truly something to be admired that many often imitate.

Instructions for Daft Punk – Derezzed (Tron Legacy Soundtrack – NTEIBINT Remix)
1.) put on headphones 2.) crank the volume all the fucking way up! 3.) eargasm

Though it gives a bit more of a raw and industrial feel to the original, it just takes the song to a whole other level. “Derezzed” is an example of the perfection Daft Punk aims for in their songs and that a great remix of their songs need not be tweaked a whole lot. The silence between 2:56 and 2:58 may be the longest 2 seconds of your life.

[New] Designer Drugs – Through The Prism

Designer Drugs have made a name for themselves making a plethora of remixes for the likes of Annie, Thieves Like Us, Little Boots and many more. Referring to their own sound as ‘grindhouse’ and ‘gutterhouse’ because of the grittiness they inject in their tracks, their sound is perfect for any head bobbing mood. Their latest release on Ultra, “Through The Prism” is pure banger bliss. A deep and tribal drum beat digs into the ground and accompanies Cerebral Votex’s vocals to create a highly polished song to do dirty and filthy things to.

[Electro/Party] Diplo ft. Lil Jon – U Don’t Like Me (South Rakkas Remix)

If football stadiums allowed for more graphic shit talking language, this would be the perfect showdown sports song as opposed to the over-played/over-cheesed “Who Let The Dogs Out” by The Baja Men. South Rakka‘s remix of Diplo and Lil Jon’s “U Don’t Like Me” put easily is one bad ass, crunky, loud, mo’fo’ track! Complete with everything from loud guitar riffs, dub lines (compliments of Diplo) and Lil Jon‘s signature screaming to get you in the head banging mood, this song was made to be played on 11 with the bass turned all the way up.

Warning: Not for the sound sensitive. You may feel the sudden urge to break things and run into walls while listening to this.

[New] Foals – One (Swedish House Mafia Cover)

British band Foals decided to take a stab at one of 2010’s signature summer bangers, Swedish House Mafia‘s “One.” Insert lead singer Yannis in place of N.E.R.D.’s Pharrell and replace the synth with Foals’ instrumentation and minimalist pop sound and you have yourself a completely new song. Though the song is not an electro banger, the live instrumentation breathe a new life, giving it a slightly dark feel to it. With a bass line that sounds like something Jack White would conspire, and the aura of the Arctic Monkeys, this song could earn Foals some new fans.

[Electro] Calvin Harris – You Used To Hold Me (S.co & D’arrigo Bootleg)

This remix of “You Used To Hold Me” adds so many awesome layers to this personal favorite of mine from Calvin Harris. The S.Co & D’arrigo Bootleg modernizes the track by giving it more of a big room funky sound, strategically breaking the track up into about 5 different sections to create a much bigger atmospheric sound allowing very little time to cover ones self before the beat kicks in and splash filthy electro dirt all over.

[Electronic] Siriusmo – Einmal In Der Woche Schreien

Gotta love the Germans (especially with keeping with the Oktoberfest spirit)! This probably the most interesting thing I have heard all week. Right off the back, if you like Crystal Castles or Broadcast this is right up your alley. A very experimental sounding track (but with a good steady beat to take you through it) , this song sounds joyous, innocent, fun and a little bit somber all at the same time. All those elements bond cohesively to create what I describe as kind of a journey of electronica up until now, and what’s to come.

If you love heavy snyth, robot voices and drum machines…Siriusmo is your Huckleberry

[Electro] Porter Robinson – I’m On Fire (Original Mix)

This teenager just doesn’t stop with the hard hitting sounds! 18 year old Robinson went a bit funkier and slightly slower on his track “I’m On Fire” than he did on his previous banger (“Say My Name”), but still keeps that big room sound. It wouldn’t be a track called “I’m On Fire” without a siren now would it?! Where a siren in a song can sound annoying on some attempts, Robinson manipulates his own funky siren to ring the alarm for everyone to report to the dancefloor.
