Preston J Knight
DANGER

We’re to a point in society where we can pretty much all agree that Top 40 music is definitely lacking in soul and originality. While there’s always a few exceptions to the rule, we all tend to lean to the blogosphere to find unique and engaging tunes, which is a strong indication to what we think of traditional mediums.

Hailing from the City of Angels, Preston Knight has been creating and performing for the majority of his life. Inspired by film, comic books, anime, and truly monumental pop artists (MJ, Lady Gaga, Prince, etc), this newcomer is hoping to inspire that escape that so many of us look for when we’re hunting for our new favorite songs.

My goal is to bring magic and soul to mainstream pop music – Preston Knight

Today, we’re bringing you not only the premiere of this up-and-coming artist’s new song, “Danger”, but we’re also giving you the first look at the music video. Produced by Danny Score (producer/writer for TMN fav Jez Dior), this cinematic-quality, suspenseful thrill ride harnesses trap-style elements with classical piano work and Knight’s soulful vocals to an engrossing listening experience.

The video boasts pure professional quality, which is rare to see with a new artists. Regardless of how it came to be, we’re excited that the time was spent to get it to this point. When we asked Knight what the thinking was behind it, here’s what he had to say:

Directed by Stephen Mallett of Green Glow Films and styled by Jordan Stolch, the video was heavily influenced by Fahrenheit 451, Matrix, Equilibrium, Thriller, 1984, Akira, Captain EO, and the current state of our hand held touch screen generation that is heavily detached from the human connection and lead to believe in a “Life-Like Fake Life” (original coined term written on the rebel hero’s jacket).

“Danger” is now available as a free download on Preston Knight’s soundcloud page.
