[Hip-Hop] A$AP Rocky – 1Train (Feat. Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, Action Bronson & Big K.R.I.T.) (Prod. Hit-Boy)

One of of the most anticipated tracks off of Long.Live.A$AP features a who’s who of some of the hottest young rappers in the game right now. “1Train” consists of six straight minutes of fiery bars from the likes of A$AP RockyKendrick Lamar, Danny Brown, Big K.R.I.T., Action Bronson, Yelawolf and Joey Bada$$. The song wouldn’t be quite complete though without the immaculate production courtesy of Hit-Boy. For those still getting accustomed to some of the names on this list, the song serves as a proper introduction to the future of rap music. This outstanding single is just another hit from the Harlem emcee who’s been churning them out left and right in preparation for his debut album, set to drop on January 15th.

Harlem’s Smoke DZA first caught hip-hop fan’s attention back in 2010 with his impressive mixtape, George Kush Da Button. Since then, he consistently released strong projects, joined up with New Orleans veteran Curren$y’s Jet Life Recordings and put out one of the strongest hip-hop albums of the summer with Rugby Thompson, entirely produced by Harry Fraud. DZA is a talented lyricist with a gritty east coast flow and certainly has created his own brand of lifestyle raps.

THEBLKHANDS are an upcoming independent rap group out of New York City. If you haven’t heard them yet, then consider this a proper introduction. The trio is comprised of rappers Cazzie Jetson and Dominic Serendip and producer ILLA. They’ve already garnered some interest, with endorsements from Big K.R.I.T., Smoke DZA, and Skyzoo, who will all be featured on their upcoming album. Their latest single features a sample of Lana Del Rey‘s breakout hit, “Video Games,” putting a spin on the track quite like any other remix before. It’s this willingness by THEBLKHANDS to consistently push the boundaries of their music that certainly gives the group one of the brightest futures in the game.

[Hip-Hop] Alley Boy- I Live This $h*t ft Big K.R.I.T.

“Your Favorite Rapper” ATL native Alley Boy drops another banger titled “I Live This Sh*t” off his upcoming mixtape. Recruiting the southern rhyme style of newcomer, Mississippi emcee Big K.R.I.T., the Big King Remembered in Time produced collabo is a sped up sample geared to the clubs and hard enough for the streets. With both rappers going hard the track and doing the beat justice, the bass-heavy and chiming instrumental makes a perfect Southern anthem. Alley Boy’s upcoming tape “The Gift of Discernment” is dropping later this year.

[Hip-Hop] DJ Khaled – They Ready Feat. J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T. & Kendrick Lamar (Prod. J. Cole)

While the last DJ Khaled song focused on hip-hop’s past and the careers of two of its most celebrated artists, this one’s premise is set squarely on the future.  The aptly named “They Ready” features arguably the three best up and coming names in hip-hop: J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., and Kendrick Lamar.  The song is produced by J. Cole himself and features all three of the young emcees stepping up to the mic and delivering their bars in double time, producing enough energy to power at least two small villages for weeks.  It’s safe to say this is pretty unique for a DJ Khaled track, and it actually had me excited for the direction of his latest album, Kiss The Ring.  Unfortunately though, this song is probably the exception, and not the rule.  Still, this has the potential to be one of his most potent compilations to date.

Look for Kiss The Ring in stores August 21st, and make sure to take a listen to two other recently released tracks from the album down below.
