We have a very special treat this week kicking off the Trap Dojo. We’re premiering the sick new track from TastyTreat, a remix of Zomboy‘s track “Here to stay”. Featuring UK Dancehall star Lady Chann, this one starts off fairly minimal, with a heavy subbass line and a smooth horns section before Channs lyrics build up to a dramatic drop of carefully organized chaotic synth wobbles. The second drop is less chaotic and has alot of that heavy grinding trap flavor before the horns take us out. TastyTreat just signed to Bird Peterson‘s Teenage Riot Records and has a great looking year ahead of him, especially if he keeps releasing tracks as exciting as this. Following up, Kid Womp takes on my favorite song from TNGHT and absolutely destroys it. Keeping that minimal style of the original, Womp rearanges the chimes into something so similar yet so different from the original. The next couple tracks are from the new Brillz album “Twonk”. The first one is a huge party starter, sure to get the dancefloor jumping, while “Smashi Tup” will have your head banging with the heavy bass lines, and has a really cool horns section sure to get your feet shuffling. Bird Peterson is taking his game a little further with this glitchy track. Ookay has a couple songs on the Dojo this week, first up, what i’m assuming is an April fools joke with “Oorah”, just listen to it all the way through and you’ll understand why. The other track is the totally serious “Star Wars”, starting off with a trapped out version of the Mos Eisley Cantina song, at just the moment you would expect Han to shoot Greedo, the whole room is destroyed by lasers. The second half of the song is the Imperial March that will have you letting out your darkside on the dancefloor when it drops. Continuing our Space theme is the trancy Proletariats remix of some Cosmic Gate. The rest of the list is filled with with Trap bangers and trapped out hip hop, before Shackles takes us back to space to chill things out a little bit before Kastle really crushes it with the vibes for an emotional finish.

Welcome to the first Trap Dojo on the revamped site. Our first track is an incredibly sexy remix of Frank Ocean‘s “Super Rich Kids”. Bird Peterson makes this song smoother than the cocoa butter you`ll be spreading on your girls back while listening to it (or visa versa). Next, Mr. Vega hits us with a ton of sharp bars from several different rappers on this vocal remix of his track “I’m Livin”. ETC. ETC. and Brillz bring you back to late 80s Harlem with their own take on the New Jack Swing. This is a track you can definitely do the (real) Harlem Shake to. If you aren’t familiar with Rustie then take note. This Scottish DJ has been huge in the UK Dubstep and Grime scene since back in 07, and this track is absolutely infectious. With this remix of Chief Keef‘s “I Don’t Like”, Willy Joy shows how he’s able to turn a hard hitting rap anthem into a dance floor banger, switching back and forth between the original instrumentals and his crazy remix, this time with a hype Moombah flip. The end of the list contains a great lovetrap mashup from Watapachi with some smooth lyrics from 50 Cent, some Keys N Krates, a trio of musicians who actually perform their songs live, a real treat in the modern EDM age, and some Future Screw, from the master of Future Screw, Trill Scott Heron.

A couple hours ago, Bird Peterson, under his Drankenstein moniker dropped his incredible Valentines Day mix via Mad Decent. While Drankenstein has released some fantastic spacey trap remixes, like this Fatboy Slim remix, his mixes have always been a special treat, masterfully blending his trap sound with Hip-Hop acapella’s. This particular mix uses some of the sexiest R&B lyrics to make totally original sensual backseat trap bangers. The mood builds throughout the mix, which includes seven incredibly sexy exclusive tracks, until the rousing “Climax” with Usher. The final track, or the after-glow of the mix ends with some slow and deep future bass sounds that is sure to get you twisted. Kicking off the 25th edition of The Trap Dojo, we have a huge remix of Rihanna’s “Jump” from Club Cheval, the same group that was behind the Nero – “Won’t You Be There” remix. This version keeps Rihanna’s chorus, a cover of “Pony” by Ginuwine but fills in the blanks with some hot verses from Theophilus London and some hot trap beats. Next up is D!RTY AUD!O‘s track from the recent Trap-a-Holics Certified Trap 2 Mixtape filled with frantic synth work and aggressive verses. After remixing “Milkshake” by Kelis, GoldTop shows that they have a flair for remixing silly female tracks into full on trap bangers, this time hitting “Lip Gloss” by Lil Mama. Hard hitting basslines, horns and sharp drumwork keep the track fresh and is sure to be a dancefloor smasher. Bird Peterson is back with another of his Drankenstein remixes, this time taking on the spacey, prog-house track “Cosmos” and keeps many of the great proggy elements, while still completely transforming it into a definitively Drankenstein track. The next track, from newcomer $1 Bin is full of horns that are on an epic scale, building up the aura before dropping it into a grimy dirty bassline with all the snares you could ask for. This is super tight production, and i’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this guy in the future. The rest of the list has plenty of favorites like O.G. Status, Huglife and Knuckle Children all with fresh tracks for you, so make sure to check them out and enjoy them. CNTRL starts off the Cool Down, fusing his hip-hop sampling with trill bells and a deep bassline. Hucci makes use of his sample from The Temptations “Here I Come” in his trill banger, while Alter Natives close out the list this week with the emotional “Sierra’s Theme”. Clearly inspired by tracks like “Lana’s Theme” from Flosstradamus, they turn the original Freshly Ground song, “I’d Like” into a heavy, emotionally charged trap anthem, whose quality is right up there with “Lana’s Theme”

Another week, another Trap Dojo, filled with the very best Trap music the internet has to offer. Sorry this post isn’t on the usual Tuesday, but it has more than enough banging tunes to make up for it. The first track, a huge remix of the Flux Pavillion and Major Lazer track “Jah No Partial” goes hard, infusing the classic roots reggae vocals over all sorts of wild instrumentals, horns, whistles and drums. The Dojo just wouldn’t quite feel right if there wasn’t a track by Ookay near the top of the list and he certainly doesn’t disappoint this week, I dare you not to lose your mind when the whistles drop into the track after the hardstyle breakdown halfway through the track. I have no idea who Kennedy Jones is other than he posted this first song to his Soundcloud last and it is a track that would be sure to pack a dance floor. It seems that we cant go a single week without throwing in a remix of “Clique,” and this week Bird Peterson does the honors. Butch Clancy, or should I say “BU†CH CLΔNCΨ” takes a break from making killer dubstep to make this hard hitting trap mash-up. This isn’t available for free download, but will be as soon as Clancy gets all the kinks worked out. I have loved every single OG mix that Candyland has released, and this mix of J-Kwon‘s “Tipsy” proves that they are one of the best at updating familiar but tired tracks into hyped up bangers. The next several songs all go hard with huge instrumentals and fire-spitting lyrics. The last few songs are a little bit different, M!NT creates a beautiful Lovetrap sound with hip-hop vocals throughout while Kastle is pure Lovetrap, with amazing layered vocals sure to get your head nodding while your heart’s breaking. Lastly, we have something the likes of which I’m sure you’ve never heard before, as 710 Records boss ṪHE ƦξVЁR∑NƉ BLEEⱣ BLOO₱ traps out the Etta James classic “At Last”. Be sure to listen to all of these songs on the best system or headphones you have to catch all the sub-bass and subtle features which make these songs truly magnificent.

Last week, Bird Peterson, the producer from Austin, Texas released his fourth, and possibly final chapter in the “Drankenstein” mix series through Mad Decent. For over a year, Bird has been using the Drankenstein handle to remix popular electro tracks, turning them into instant Trap bangers. While his remixes are great, his Drankenstein Mixes have always been something very special. Filled with (mostly) Trance classics, with a healthy amount of heavy dub bass, Bird traps these tracks out, not simply by increasing the 808s and snares and throwing in the odd gunshot or “Damn son” sample, but instead by expertly layering lyrics by some of the best dirty south Trap rappers like Three 6 Mafia, T.I., Future and Crime Mob over every song. Now, Bird has given us the entire mix separated into the individual songs, resulting in 15 incredible mashed-up tracks that would fit well into any Trance or Hip-Hop set, or act as your soundtrack when you are hitting the streets.
