[NEW] Drake – The Motion (Feat. Sampha) (Prod. Sampha & 40) + 3 More New Tracks

Drake
The Motion Feat. Sampha

Feel like getting overwhelmed this morning? Then you’re in for a real treat. Possibly still feeling the highs of a Miami Heat victory in the NBA Finals (even though he couldn’t get in on the celebrations), Drake decided to share four very different new singles with us last night. Although only one of them will probably make it to the final cut on Nothing Was The Same, they’re all worth a listen.

“The Motion” is easily the best of the quartet, with a sound that’s very reminiscent of the late 90’s/early 2000’s and contains a feature from Sampha (of SBTRKT fame). Meanwhile on “Jodeci Freestyle,” Drizzy and main man J. Cole show that they’re both ready to take over the game, if they haven’t already that is. Given the lyrical content, we’re assuming this was recorded very recently (possibly after their show in NY?), which makes the song that much more impressive.

Similar to previous remixes of “Round of Applause” and “Tony Montana,” Drake decides to bring his Southern side out as he tacks a fresh verse onto “Versace,” a new single from Atlanta natives Migos. The final premiere comes from PARTYNEXTDOOR, the first signee to Drake’s October’s Very Own label. Drizzy feels right at home on this one as he lends a guest verse to the sultry, laidback tune.

Download all four songs for free, and be on the lookout for Nothing Was The Same, which will be in stores September 17th.

[NEW] Drake – Girls Love Beyonce (Feat. James Fauntleroy) (Prod. Noah “40” Shebib)

Drake
Girls Love Beyonce Feat. James Fauntleroy

It hasn’t even been 24 hours since Drake revealed to us his obligatory Khaled track for the year, “No New Friends,” but he decided to surprise us with a brand new single describing why “Girls Love Beyonce.” Drake definitely has a thing for recycling choruses from the late 90’s. Just as he did with Juvenile‘s “Back That Azz Up” on 2011’s “Practice,” Drizzy interpolates the hook of Destiny Child‘s hit song, “Say My Name” for this one. Don’t think that diminishes the quality of the track, however. This newest effort from Drake features him in his typical R&B form: raw, steady, relaxed, and smooth. As usual, the dusky, atmospheric production is handled by none other than 40, while James Fauntleroy (of Cocaine 80s fame) takes care of background vocals and chorus duties. After hearing his third single, it seems like Drake has got one hell of an album in store for us with Nothing Was The Same, dropping later this year.

[NEW] DJ Khaled – No New Friends (Feat. Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne) (Prod. Boi-1da & Noah “40” Shebib)

DJ Khaled
No New Friends (SFTB Remix) Feat. Drake, Rick Ross & Lil Wayne

Just as promised, DJ Khaled and company have dropped their new single for the summer, “No New Friends.” Appropriately enough, the song features Khaled’s favorite trio of Drake, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. Serving as the first release from Khaled’s upcoming album, Suffering From Success, the track is an absolute banger, just as you might expect. Say what you want, about Khaled, but he knows how to produce a hit (even if he really doesn’t produce them).

This was originally crafted as a “Started From The Bottom” remix, and if you listen closely, you can hear elements of the original in the background. However, Drake decided to hand it over to Khaled to use for an entirely different purpose. We’ve got the Funk Flex bombed radio rip for now, but we’ll be sure to update you with the official version whenever it drops.

UPDATE: Officially relieved of all tags. Thank you Based God Drizzy.

[Hip-Hop] A$AP Rocky – Fuckin’ Problem Feat. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar (Prod. Noah “40” Shebib)

A$AP Rocky pulls out all the stops on this brand new single, recruiting a few of the hottest young rappers in the game to help him out in Drake, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick Lamar.  On the aptly titled “Fuckin Problem,” the fearsome foursome remind us exactly what you get when you put them on a track together. While 2 Chainz mans the hook, the other three rappers contribute a few verses to discuss some of the issues associated with their fame and wealth (although none of them seem serious enough to quell our rap aspirations quite yet). If you enjoyed this, make sure to keep an eye out for Rocky’s upcoming major label debut, LONGLIVEA$AP, dropping soon.

[Hip-Hop] Aaliyah – Enough Said ft. Drake (Prod. Noah “40” Shebib)

Toronto’s own hip-hop/R&B superstar, Drake, has on many occasion shouted out the late, great Aaliyah and on this newly released single, likely from her upcoming posthumous album, we get a glimpse into what a collaboration between the two artists might sound like. The beautiful vocals of Aaliyah over the always intoxicating production of Drake’s good friend and incredibly talented instrumentalist, Noah “40” Shebib, make for an ethereal feel all but bringing the sorely missed icon back to life. Drake flows effortlessly over “Enough Said” regarding his always conflicted feelings about fame and fortune. As much of Drizzy and 40’s music, this one’s perfect for winding down a night of partying you hoped would never end.

[Hip-Hop] Nas – Bye Baby (Prod. Salaam Remi & Noah “40” Shebib)

Nas blessed us today with another leak from his upcoming album, Life is Good, which is set to drop July 17th. One of the first things I noticed about this track were the production credits, which feature the always legendary 40, most well known for his extensive work with Drake. Rather than the ethereal, trippy sound that 40 often creates, this cut goes more in the soulful direction.  On “Bye Baby,” Nasir discusses his past relationships and drops some knowledge and valuable advice in the realm of romance. Not a particularly dark or profound song, this is perfect for sunny summer activities.
