[Indie] WALL – Shoestring

WALL first charmed us with her delicate voice on the track, No Secrets, and she returns again with another song that tugs on our hearts’ strings. With vocals resting on water and an effortless honeyed melody, the sincere delivery of the song is undeniable. Be it in a coffee shop or in a car rushing to work, you are bound to suspend that moment when the track plays, so that you can find out what is on the mind of this evoking London songstress. “Shoestring” is the leading track off her new EP of the same name.  Count down the days to purchase it — out April 2nd.

[Indie] WALL – No Secrets

Aside from knowing that she is a singer and producer originating from London, not much else is known about her. However, what we can gather about WALL is that she has a real and sincere talent in bringing forth emotive and honest tracks. Following only the simplistic rhythm of a guitar and strokes of keyboard percussion, “No Secrets” is graced by WALL’s vocals which are gentle, yet crisp enough to resonate deeply with any listener. [Indie Pop] New Navy – Regular Town

With the inevitable cold weather creeping just around the holiday season, some of us can’t help but wish for a resurrection of summer heatwaves. Arriving just in time, however, is a new and aestival tune by New Navy, indie band from a tiny beachside town in Australia. Much like their hugely successful track, “Zimbabwe,” “Regular Town” features jangly percussions accompanied by a ukulele resulting in a cheery rhythmic beat that will light up even the gloomiest of days and moods. Reminiscent of Bahamas‘ “Caught Me Thinking,” this song is bound to bring on relaxing and summery vibe.

[Folk Rock] Lady Lamb the Beekeeper – Rooftop

Originating from Portland, Maine is the folk artist Aly Spaltro, better known as Lady Lamb the Beekeeper. Having spent four years working at a DVD store which submerged her in a sea of films and soundtracks ranging from the Rocky Horror Picture Show to Spider-Man, this lovely artist has grown to produce a most unique and eclectic rock sound in the realm of folk music. Kicking off the tune with a lighthearted acoustic melody, the song progresses into a medley of upbeat instrumentals. Keep your ears to the ground for her debut studio album, Ripely Pine coming February 19th, 2013 via Ba Da Bing! Records.

[Electro] MNDR – Faster Horses (Deorro Remix)

MNDR released her debut album Feed Me Diamonds only about a month ago, but her evocative vocals in the track Faster Horses,” has already inspired a countless number of remixes. One in particular, which has been fuelling energy on the dance floor is that of the 21-year-old Californian-based DJ, Deorro (formerly known as Ton!c). It features a faster beat, heavier bassline and strong emphasis on the vocal hook, creating a noteworthy club track.
