Paris & Simo
Zombie (3LAU TomorrowWorld Edit)

I can remember it like it was yesterday. On my desk (which I assume was meant for homework space) was my mixer and two tables, all hooked in to four massive floor speakers. While you might think this set up was necessary for a proper house party, it was actually what my dorm room looked like way back in 2002. While I’m sure everyone on the 3rd floor of the McCowen dorms loved my super smooth mixes, my professors sure didn’t appreciate my lack of studious efforts. Regardless, Zombie Nation’s “Kernkraft 400” had a heavy spot in my regular rotation, which is why I was admittedly excited to see a fresh new take on it.

Recently Montreal DJ/Producer duo Paris & Simo created an edit of their own, taking it out of that decade and into this one with some new-school appeal. 3LAU having a knack for creating stellar bootlegs and edits of his own,  took their version and put together what you’re seeing here today. While originally reserved for both artist’s live sets, 3LAU is releasing this into the wild in celebration of his TomorrowWorld debut, and with the intent of building up some hype for Dance Floor Filth 4.

Paris & Simo sent me a 1 drop draft version of this edit almost 8 months ago; after playing it in nearly every set, I told the boys I was going to do my own edit / mix. It’s been an essential part of my sets and a well kept secret between the 3 of us, exclusive to our live shows. It was finally time to unleash it after all of the amazing feedback we received!

Aside from being an energetic take that pays homage to the original, this edit also serves as the perfect tune to throw into those upcoming Halloween playlists. Make sure to head over to 3LAU’s webpage on October 13th to snag your copy.
