After staying relatively quiet for years, Lupe Fiasco‘s been doing a tremendous job of keeping himself in the conversation over the last few months by steadily dropping material on a regular basis. In that time, he’s shown an affinity for hopping on popular beats, grabbing the instrumental for Drake & Jay-Z‘s “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2 on this go around. Playing off the namesake of the original, “Pound of Flesh/Paris Tokyo 2” features Lupe fully embracing the ghostly soundscape for two and a half minutes to flex his lyrical dexterity and shout out some of the top emcees from his hometown. Check out the loosie above, and for those of you expecting a true sequel to the classic “Paris, Tokyo,” don’t get your hopes up.
